Hi guys,

Need a little help here.

Had to change my switch console due to a problem with the SD slot.

This is what I have done: Saved data on the cloud, had the console replaced, restored the existing user on the new switch but now when I start my Pokemon Sword - it's going back to the language selection screen. Have I lost my whole game???

I'm afraid of going through with the game set up and in the end def loosing everything!!!!

Help me pleaaaaseee!!!! Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

@alrf I'm not sure how to give you this news, but... Pokémon Sword is not compatible with Cloud Saving, all your datas were only and exclusively on your old Switch and to move them to a new console you had to get the old and new console togheter and transfer the save file manually between them.

If you can't access your old Switch anymore then I'm afraid your old adventure is lost now.

@alrf I think there may have been a way to transfer your pokemon save data, but you might need to have both consoles? I'll admit, I'm fuzzy on transfering from console to console. So, I could be wrong, or mistating something.

So, there are a handful of games that don't get the game save cloud support. There's no neon sign advertising the games that don't have cloud support, and this issue can catch people by surprise. Technically, on the game's eshop page, or on the back of the game case, there is fine print mentioning it doesn't have cloud save support. Another big Nintendo game, Splatoon 2, also doesn't have cloud support.

Here's nintendo's list of games that don't have cloud save support:

Yeah you need both consoles to transfer save files for games that don't support cloud back ups.

You could always try contacting the person that has your system now. Assuming it was a local thing.
