I bought my husband a Switch for his birthday and gave it to him this past weekend. We played it for an hour tops on Saturday, on Sunday I switched it on and it informed me it needed to update which I accepted. It shut it's self down once updated and wouldn't turn back on again!
I have tried a hard reset by holding down the power button with no luck, the green light on the dock occasionally flashes for a second when I insert the Switch and my TV recognises something has been connected via the HDMI port but that's it. I've tried another AC adapter with the same results.
Is there anything else I can try before I send it off to Nintendo for repair (I'm pretty fuming that I'm expected to ship it off for 'repair' when it's barely been used)?
@bryonybarwell Have you just left it charging for an hour or so? I know when my battery runs down, my Switch is completely unresponsive until it's had time to charge up to around 3-5% charge again. When the battery is less than that the unit won't turn on from an off state.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit thanks for the reply I left it over night on Sunday and yesterday still had nothing. I'm so bemused as to how it can go from seemingly working fine to completely dead so quickly! Thanks again
@bryonybarwell
Hey there, I'm so sad to head how unlicky you were with the switch, don't lose another day and ask for a replacement, your husband is a lucky guy to have a thoughtful wife as you are 😊

@TidusUK@umniknight thanks for replying! I'm having more dramas now thanks to the place I bought it off (dug out my proof of purchase only to find they scanned the wrong colourway so now have to wait for them to send me a new receipt!) but Nintendo are being very helpful! Thanks again!
