Topic: Bayonetta, not getting pure platinum award...getting all pure platinum metals.

I’m about to go insane!!!! I’ve played chapter 3, THREE different times and pure platinum every metal. But my damage meter reads -41. How the f*** is that possible, the damage at the end did odd numbers before on chapter 2, I think it gave me -64 or something but I still got the pure platinum award. I’ve been closing the game and restarting to go back to last save point if I get hit. WTF IS going on? I’m gonna throw my switch out the window if I do this chapter again and get every verse’s pure platinum metal, but then get a platinum award. If you don’t believe me I’ll be more than happy to post a pic on here of the screenshot I took of the results screen at the end.

As someone who has played through Bayonetta more times than i have any other game not titled Zelda or Mario, i can say that Pure Platinums on some levels are INSANELY tough. It's not just about avoiding damage, it's also about the speed you finish the level (and actually, on some levels, the level-speed is more important than if you take damage). Also important is a high point-total — in other words, vary your attacks, maximize your combos and blast through. Honestly, you have to hit an almost zen-like state. Level 3 is one of the tougher ones just because of the way the level is structured, but trust me, you can do it (assuming you don't get too frustrated and destroy your controller, lol).

No that’s the thing the times combos and everything are completely pure platinum, every verse I get pure platinum which is only possible with no damage which gets play, time which gets plat, and combo which get plat equaling pure plat for the verse; each verse says no damage and I’m making sure I don’t get damage between verses even though that’s not dupposed to matter; then on the chapter summary screen every sing verse shows pure platinum but I don’t get pure platinum award for chapter 3 only platinum. Every other chapter that I do that gives me pure platinum so I’m just guessing it’s a glitch cause long the weird off number of damage I got, even though my health is 100% at the end it’s just so weird I moved on to chapter 4 and got pure plat on it and I’ve been working on chapter 5 all day today and got 1 gold medal on the verse right before you fight Jeanne for the second time which I pure platinumed with gaze of despair. So as you can imagine I’m just a bit frustrated with this game lol. But this chapter is my fault and I understand why my combo was Gil not platinum on that verse l. But chapter 3 totally different I’m gonna post the screenshot so you guys can see it every vers is pure platinumed but the summary award is only platinum VERY WEIRD.

Ok, so I’ve got the scoop for anyone that wants to know, I Messed up... this was no glitch. It’s my fault. I didn’t do the last Alfheim or the part on the bridge I thought the bridge gets smashed after you fix it just like it did the first time and you had to run. You fight the angels first in the middle then run up the steps, also the Alfheim before that as usual was further back. I got it! That’s now chapters 1-5 Pure Platinum on normal, god... I have no idea how I’ll do this on hard on non stop climax lol. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement I stick with and checked a walkthrough guide. Have you tried to pure platinum any levels on any difficulty?

Congrats! I was wondering if it happened to be a glitch, but i guess you solved it.

While i have played through the game multiple times on most difficulties (i haven't really bothered with the Very Easy or Easy difficulties, as i don't really see a point), i haven't really tried to due a Pure Platinum run. That being said, I have managed to Pure Plat a number of levels (only on Normal and Hard i believe), and it is always such a satisfying experience.
