Suddenly I'm noticing animated avatars. Why'd this suddenly happen? Could we not do it before? Where are people getting these from and how can someone else do this?

We ask that people not use animated avatars please. A fix will be in place soon that will eliminate them either way. Thanks.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Sorry but that is far too distracting once everyone begins to use them. Those seal eyes alone were creeping me out.

It is a WALRUS.

I agree though, they were getting distracting.

Fine by me. I couldn't find an animated Nanocarp anyways.
I still wish they didn't have to go. I liked that blinking walrus.

Huh? I know Nintendo Life prides itself on being different to other sites, and that's why we all love it so much. But blocking something that the users are pleased to see? :(

Distracting? From what? 0.o

I am sort of wondering also. What's so bad about being distracting?

If you give a mouse a cookie...

First it's animations, then it's adding sound effects to it, then pretty soon, people will be renting out animiated advertising space on their avatars.

Yes Corbie, I know what you are saying. But... on any other site we would have had bouncy babe bits, bloody headshots, stick men fighting, lolcats laughing, headbanging marios, and lots of other annoying animations to drive Sean wild. :P But on NL, the users are different, and I feel we could have been trusted to keep it subtle.

maybe

Well, most of us only wanted our avatars blinking. No one really went overboard. [I think.]
