Topic: 3Ds Transfer of SD card not working!? My save Data's Gone!!!

Within the past 4 hours I decided to trade in my 3 year old 3DS in exchange for a NES 3DS XL.
Well I'll try to make it as short as possible but for some reason all my data on my first SD card on my 3DS won't pop up on my new 3DS XL. My downloaded games aren't there, My Legend of Zelda wallpaper isn't there and even all 40 hours I put into Fantasy life is completely GONE! No trace of anything! it's like I put a brand new SD card in my system!! I even went online to see how to transfer data from one SD card to another....Did that....and still! NOTHING will come up on my new system! I'm so frustrated -_- Any help? Guessing I needed to do a system transfer, but that's the thing. I couldn't transfer my data from the 3ds I was trading in to the new 3DS XL I was getting... guess I'll see tommorow if they let me take back my old system and give them back the 3ds xl....

I don't have a 3DS, but I think your SD card was formatted when you put it in your new one, which deletes all stored data. I don't know if this will work, but you can try contacting Nintendo to see if they could get your stuff back.

You basically answered your own question. You didn't do a system transfer so you lost everything. Most places like Gamestop will let you do a transfer if you are trading in your 3DS . From what I have heard you just have to let them know and I am not sure if they do it at the store or let you take it home and do it so you will have to ask them for the details.

Since you have already left the store though you have a slim chance of getting the data back. Hopefully, if you can prove which 3DS is yours and they haven't sold the one you traded in, then you might have a chance. Other then that, if you have a NNID you can contact Nintendo with that information and see if then can transfer your NNID.

You can only hope and check if the store you traded it at still has it and if they can let you do the transfer

Contacting nintendo to see if they can do a remote system transfer or something migh also help, as Tasuki said. But you won't be able to use your save data that way,

It's like what the others have said. Hopefully, GameStop will still have your console. I know a few years ago, they would have to send the console off to be reformatted. I don't know if every store does this or if they still do this. Good luck to you, I would go there as soon as the open.
