Topic: 3DS Charging, Touch Screen Brightens....Normal??

So, just recently I was using my 3DS and noticed something I haven't before, that whether it's charging via the cradle or the charge cable the touchscreen goes a little bit brighter on the 3DS,then when removed from charging it goes back. Is this normal? If not, has anyone else ever noticed this before? Just seems a little odd it'd do something like that.

I just put my 3ds on the charging cradle. It didn't do it on 1 but when I turned it up to 5 it did. o.O
Strange, I never noticed that before. It also does it on 4.

i just checked, and it happens to me too — but only if my screen brightness is set to 4 or 5. i wonder why that is, haha.

power-saving mode also seems to have no effect, it happened with it on as well as off. weird~

Yea I noticed that, too. And it looks like maybe both screens now that I've taken another look.....I still find that unusual because I also own a DSi XL which doesn't do that. Don't think any old 1s did.

it's definitely both screens on mine, and i don't really remember it happening with my DSi, but I'll check it out when i get home, lol.

idk, i know i have my computer set to brighten and dim the screen depending on whether it's plugged in or not, so maybe this is some kind of odd internal setting we can't change on our own for the purpose of saving power (though more power savings come from choosing the power-saving option, natch). only Nintendo knows for sure, i guess, and it doesn't seem to be hurting anything... :3

This is so annoying to me because i dont think the system is bright enough to begin with and I just noticed this. I would much rather not be teased with better brightness and just be able to have this anytime at the cost of battery power. Jesus Ninte ndo I love you but I just want to punch you in the face sometimes for your stupid mistakes! Does the xl do this?
