Topic: Your worst game purchase

I don't usually have regrets. I generally like the games I spend my money on, partially because I research them thoroughly, read reviews and try to get my hands on a rental if I can. I've been disappointed in a few acquisitions. I think Zombi U has to top the list however. I've never hated a game so much in my life. I tried, I played by their rules, but even that didn't help. I felt it was broken. Crippling glitches and poor design made the game simply the worst I've ever played. I'm just glad I paid $30 for it instead of $60 like so many people paid at launch. Shame on you Ubisoft!

I got this game for my 10th birthday as a chance to experience a good racing game on the Wii. However, my birthday was instantly destroyed. Ugly visuals, ugly monsters cars, bad music, repetitive tracks and especially the awful controls literally made me stay away from my Wii until the last half of 2013, where i only use it for Netflix. Should've picked Mario Kart Wii instead.

I can agree with this. Even the plastic wheel that came with the game sucked.

There was a stretch where I bought Diablo 3, then Uncharted 3, then Mass Effect 3.

Each game soured me on a series that I previously loved.

By themselves none of them were absolutely horrible, but 3 straight regrettable 3 games was so ominously disappointing I wanted to cry.

Quest 64. I love RPGs, but that game almost ruined an entire genre for me. Such a terrible game...

My first Resident Evil was RE4:Wii Edition. I loved it so much, I decided to try the game where it all started:

Yep just don't play Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Code Veronica. They are basically same as Resident Evil. It was interesting though since Resident Evil 4 use the same control scheme from Resident Evil 3 except you use third-person view instead of top-screen view.

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

This is the equivalent of someone saying the original Star Wars trilogy is crap, and that the new ones are better.

I am sickened by you both.

Well, REmake is a proper survival horror game, focusing on slow-burning tension, strict item management, and general survival. RE4 is... an action game, essentially. It's not really horror, anymore than the usual zombie shooting game is horror.

Try going back to it one day when you can appreciate it for what it is. It really is quite a masterpiece.

@JohnRedcorn
To be fair, he didn't say it was a bad game, he said it wasn't his thing. Which is totally fair, especially if RE4 is your first exposure to the series.

@Super_Gravy
Uh... no. Those games aren't the same. At all. That comment doesn't make any sense. They have different environments, different characters, different music, different enemies (well, some)... similar control schemes and themes, but that's to be expected.

Actually I love the original Resident Evil series. I just saying don't play those games if you don't like the original one. Too many people enter the Resident Evil world through Resident Evil 4. I enjoyed playing Resident Evil Zero the best to be honest.

@Ralizah: I'm not saying those games are the same games. I saying those games may not for him or her to play. Almost all the Resident Evil 4 fans don't like the top-view games and that is why I list those games. I was upset that Albert Wesker is dead forever since he survive so many odd events. He got stab in the stomach in the first. He survive a freaking nuke. Heck Mr. X survive the blast furnace and that doesn't mean Albert Wesker couldn't survive the volcano.

Your poor traumatized man. I can just imagine the terrible flashbacks you get when you see rings (I suggest that you don't watch the Olympics).

My wounds since then have healed! It's funny because when I did the ring stage, I thought the problem was me. It wasn't until after I watched the AVGN's video that I realized what the real problem was.

The Rugrats Movie for the Game Boy Color, imo. Just border-on unplayable and unreasonable once you get to the third stage (gameplay's unreasonable too). I'd say Bubsy II, but at least I can get a whole lot farther than that, as bad as a sequel that game is.
