I'm glad you added the 'doesn't need to be released in 2014'. Don't think I've played many new games this year.

1) FFX HD
2) Symphony of the Night (first time playing it)
3) Zelda Minish Cap (started off a bit generic but really picks up steam)

As for the games I imagine will take these spots in the coming months:

1) Smash Bros 3DS
2) Shovel Knight (hurry up guys)
3) Minecraft Vita
4) Tales of Hearts R

In what sense is it an awkward sequel? I didn't even think it should be called a sequel. I thought it was an excellent game though, despite the fact that the weapon shop and non-linearity didn't really add anything to it. No story either.

Mainly awkward in that its use of old and new game design ideas combined didn't gel well for me, even if both were usually done quite well.
