If we really want the Wii to be taken serious by "hardcore gamers", then buy the more mature-themed games or do something I probably shouldn't say on here!
I am dead serious about what I said. I have owned my Wii since launch and love it, but I also got an Xbox 360 from my wife from Christmas and honestly play it more now than the Wii. The reason why is because 360 has more adult gaming experiences that I wanna play. I want the Wii to get more of these ambitious type of games so that Nintendo gets the point.
I don't understand how "adult" = "ambitious" or "hardcore."
Maturity is shown in details too complex for children to comprehend intellectually or emotionally, not in games that make you say, "Oh man, that vampire just blew up. Shoot it again."
EDIT: @Shakkin Brewtyss - Left4Dead really wasn't that great imo...one of those games that, for the first hour, seems like a novel, kick-ass fps, and by hour 2 you realize you'll probably never pick it back up....just no staying power. And yes, I will spell your name differently every time I reference you in a post.
I dunno about that, my 62 hours of playtime say otherwise =)
The mature titles have a much more realistic look which to me suits the more powerful HD consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3. Plus the core audiences are geared more towards those consoles anyway. So far the more realistic stuff I've seen on the Wii hasn't looked that hot. But I'm a bit biased anyway, as I much prefer the more "kiddy" looking stuff anyway.
wii developers should focus more on making higher quality mature games
Now that I can agree with. I'd love to see high-quality mature titles, and not just some thrown-together garbage just for the sake of trying to make mature titles for the system. But if I'm going to play a mature title, I'd personally rather do it on my Xbox 360 or PS3 with the HD visuals. Maybe I've just become spoiled that way.

Just makes me see more, and this was always my opinion on the company, how High Voltage, and many other companies for that matter, just doesn't get it. Core doesn't have to mean Gore, and what really boggles my mind is how the company could continue making games like these for Wii when they would be much better recieved on other consoles, where that kind of thing is the norm. I just don't think their games will appeal to the Mario and Zelda fans that make up the "core" chunk of the Wii userbase. Wayfoward has the right idea with Boy and his Blob and Ubisoft seems to be getting better with Rabbids Go Home but games like Mad World, No More Heroes and the Conduit won't make waves amongst Nintendo fans, not because they're violent, but because they'll always have that "if I wanted games like this I should just get a or play them on my 360/PS3" thought in the back of their heads when considering these games.
Future Wii purchases: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Zelda Wii New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sin and Punishment 2

Just adding blood and gore for the sake of having it does not make a game adult, hardcore, or ambitious. Having complex storylines, deep character development, and great graphics will. Corbie I can agree that sometimes "kiddie" games and graphics are fine , I just don't want that to be all that is offered on the Wii when I know that it can handle and do so much more. Also thanks for fixing my original post and not banning me for it. I really need to work on that gosh darn foul mouth of mine
lol this thread is not about mature games hahaha i dont mind but i wanted ur guys opinion on THE GRINDER hahaha
yeah well I guess we kinda did get off topic there. The grinder looks and sounds like fun times considering they wanna try all the bells and whistles other gamers get on other systems.
like i just was talking to my friend about how mad i was that theres barely any good fps's on wii then i here bout THE GRINDER and i almost pee'd myself haha
Problem with "HD visuals" on other systems is that graphics only take a game so far. After 5 minutes of playing a game, regardless of what system it's on, the visuals take backseat, and the gameplay and controls become the focus of the gamer's attention. If the controls suck, or the game is boring, no amount of quality graphics is going to save it. Companies like High Voltage Software should be praised and propped for attempting to do what so many other companies haven't bothered to: destroy stereotypes by breaking the limits. Up top for The Conduit and The Grinder!
