Other M definately, for all the reason listed in that pandora's box of another thread. If I had to pick a Prime entry, it'd definately be Prime 2. I had to force myself to beat that game. Way too much fetch questing for my tastes, and I don't like the whole light/dark world concept, its too cliche and artificially lengthens gameplay.
Also I know I'll probably get pitchforks targeted at me, but I really don't like Super Metroid. It just isn't that great, and its more of a nostalgia-fied classic that doesn't hold up as well as say, Metroid Zero Mission. I like to know where I need to go next, so that I can keep that in mind when exploring around in the meantime.
@Austroid People have mentioned Super Mario World, Half-Life 2, several Zelda games, the Uncharted series, and many more lauded games in this thread. I think you're fine.
Best thread ever

@Austroid - I didn't like Super Metroid either, actually. It wasn't bad, but I just didn't find it memorable at all. Certainly not Best Game Evar!!! material. And yeah, getting lost and not knowing what to do next sucked.

Wow, I'm suprised. Didn't think to read others posts first.

I personally got stuck within the first 15 or so minutes in! I don't think that's a good sign of the game's age.
Man, I got stuck like 6 times, and I'm 3/4 of the way through. And yeah, it's not my first Metroid.
I just flat out gave up haha, honestly, its been on my Wii menu for a couple years now. I figured I'd get it since its one of the last Metroid games I've never played, and its so highly praised, etc. I also haven't beat Metroid II (GB cartriage), got stuck after getting the Spiderball, or Prime Hunters; the controls are hard for lefties like myself and I feel like I ruined the L trigger on my 3DS, since it squeaks alot now.
Well not counting the crappy $5 games i own, it seems like this thread has become mostly about games that were disappointing, or didn't live up to the hype. in that case my #2 would be Metroid prime 3, loved, LOVED the first 2, it was an ok game, but the it had terrible controls, boring map design, and boring story, no matter what people say, Metroid: Other M is the better Metroid Wii game. and my #1 most disappointing game HAS to be Super Mario Galaxy 2, it was a good game, but not a great game, and with my expectation from the other games in the series, mixed with the ultra hype it had going, it was just a huge overall disappointment. i got it day one and i liked it at first but there were just soooo many bad decisions the developers made, and some steps backwards from the other games. i could go on for hours about why, but ... no time and not in the mood.
I didn't get that stuck in Metroid II even. Granted I looked up a map once or twice, but still. You had a Super Metroid and I still couldn't figure it out sometimes.
But, hey, at least it didn't troll me like Half-Life 2. :/
I guess I'd also list Team Fortress 2. It's not a bad game, but it's really not what I expected and the community is nowhere near as good as people say it is. I think after playing that I've determined that I never want to play a team-focused FPS ever again.

Coincidently, I was gonna make this thread focused on most disappointing games, but I figured for most people, "most disappointing" and "least favorite" are one in the same, which this thread has shown.

Well, the fact that its a GB game doesn't help either, everything looks identical, except the [awesome] soundtrack. I tend not to look at walkthroughs because to me that ruins the enjoyment of playing and completing a game on your own. But Prime 2 is an exception...
Super's map isn't all that helpful; its like someone dropping you off in a foreign country, throwing you a map and telling you to find some random objects in a few hours.

Super Metroid is a great game, but I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone likes it better than Cave Story.
Didn't you disagree when I said the same about La-Mulana? Anyways, potential reasons
A. People get pissed over the Capcom-like whoring of Cave Story, moreso then me since I still love the game for what it is.
B. Cave Story would be too linear for some (I actually liked the linearity though, hidden paths were easy enough and not overly abundant)
I've seen good games get hate over terrible decisions rather then game quality (Capcom and DLC, Capcom and rereleases, Capcom and cancellation of other games)
