I personally haven't played 10, but I have still highly enjoyed what I have played (even though I'm more of a casual fighter fan, and enjoy messing around with the characters in training mode & quick exhibition matches more than anything). Even as a more casual fighting fan, I still spend a lot of time on fighters, so I always feel like I get my money's worth.
6. Samurai Showdown II (Neo Geo Wii VC) - I absolutely suck at this one (even on the easiest difficulty, I choke after the 5th fight), but I still enjoy it nonetheless, and fire it up from time to time. (Favorite characters: haven't found any)
5. Street Fighter II: the World Warrior (SNES) - If you grew up in the 16 bit era, you probably had at least one version of Street Fighter II, and this was mine. I still remember how good it felt to finally beat M. Bison (albiet on easier difficulty levels). I still fire it up every once in awhile, for a bit of nostalgia. (Favorite characters: Ryu, Ken, Chun Li)
4. Capcom VS SNK 2 (GCN) - What this game lacks in gameplay modes, it makes up for with lots & lots of characters. I had actually worked my way up to beat Akuma (or Rugal, depending on who you were playing as), but could never beat their special forms. It's still a great game, though. (Favorite characters: Ryu, Mai, Chun Li, Terry, Rock, Morrigan)
3. Bleach: the Blade of Fate (DS) - For a licensed title, this is a really solid game (and better for fans of the series). It's actually the only 2D fighter I've 100% completed. I actually beat all of the story scenarios during a long summer car trip up to Mount Rushmore a few years ago, lol. (Favorite characters: Ichigo, Hollow Ichigo, Kon, Toshiro, Uryu, Byakuya, Soi Fon, Yoruichi)
2. Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition (3DS) - It may not be the definitive version of the game, but it was great for what I wanted. I'm not very good online, but that doesn't keep me from having fun online, and I've beaten arcade mode with all the characters (albiet at an easier setting). It's also the very first (and still one of the few) 3DS game I've played for over 50 hours. (Favorite characters: Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Ibuki, Chun Li, Akuma, Gouken, Cammy, Dudley, C. Viper, Seth, Dan, Guy)
1. Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii) - I just love how flashy this game is, and yet how fundamentally sound it is as well. I'd say it's a great game for both casual fighting fans (like myself), and more tenured veterans. (Favorite characters: Ryu, Chun Li, Batsu, Tekkaman Blade, Karas, Morrigan)
