You could probably say that my first gaming system was a computer which I played in the early 2000's, with games like Breakout, Missile Command and the 3D Pac-Man.
2003 - Game Boy Advance
2004 - Xbox
2008 - Nintendo DS
2009 - Xbox 360 (My brother bought this)
2009 - Wii
2010 - Nintendo DSi
2011 - Nintendo 3DS
For those of you who don't know who I am, I'm Kirby95, I just changed my username.
1998 - Game Boy Color
1999 - N64 (This actually came with the car my mom bought)
2001/2002 - Gamecube, Game Boy Advance
2003/2004 - Game Boy Advance SP
2004/2005 - DS (I got it when it came with Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, though I don't know when that stopped)
2006 - Wii
2009 - DSi
2011 - 3DS
2012 - Wii U
My brother has consoles I don't have/don't play, like an Atari 7800, Sega Dreamcast, Xbox (unworking), and an Xbox 360. He got all those within the last two/three years, so no, he did not get a 7800 back in the '80s. I've never owned a gaming computer, though I played educational computer games back when I was a wee laddy in the mid-'90s.
Typing up this list, I saw a few "odd man out" consoles of their time... Good times, good times.
1983 Atari 5200
1987 Master System
1990 TurboGrafx-16
1999 N64
2000 Gameboy Color
2000 PS
2001 PS2
2005 Dreamcast
2007 Wii
2007 DSi
2013 Wii U
2015 looking at "new" 3DS XL
I also own several used or secondhand consoles, but they don't count in my opinion, simply cause They were "friended" to me after a long period of forgetfulness I'm kinda like the orphanage for unloved consoles.
1988 Nes
1989 Gameboy
1993 Sega Genesis
1997 Gameboy Color
1997 Playstation
1999 Sega Dreamcast
2001 Playstation 2
2004 Nintendo GameCube
2007 Playstation 3
2007 Wii
2013 Wii U
2015 New 3DS? PS4?
Not sure if I can get this completely accurate but here it goes (I'm not counting all the crazy editions of the GBA or the DS or 3DS like the GBASP or the DSi :
-NES (my dad actually had this, and I just so happened to be born before the end of it's time as THE console to have)
-SNES. Probably at release, though I was young when it first came out. Still one of my favorite consoles.
-N64 - 1996. Got it with Super Mario 64 for Christmas that year. Probably my favorite console ever to this day.
-GB Poket - Somewhere around 97 or 98 I think.
-GBC - Late 90's.
-Sega Game Gear - 2000. First non Nintendo system. It was sort of a gift. Long story. Had some good games still though.
-GameCube - 2001 - Probably the most hyped I had ever been for a game system.
-GBA - 2001
-Dreamcast - Somewhere around the early to mid 2000's. I got this and the Sega Genesis around this time due to my obsession with SA2:B on the GC at the time. Sonic went on to become one of my favorite series for some time (with the Adventure era being my favorite).
-Sega Genesis - Early to mid 2000's.
-Nintendo DS - 2004
-Wii - 2006
-Nintendo 3DS - 2011
-Xbox 360 - 2012. There are a few exclusives I really wanted to try out actually. Batman: Arkham Asylum, Gears of War 3, and Sonic Generations I think are my favorite games for this one. Didn't get into too much other stuff.
-Wii U - 2012.

-GBA (The first one that I bought myself. I bought it from a classmate in middle school)
-Wii (My mom bought this after she tried out Wii Sports at a neighbors house. I ended up using it more than she did though)

-Wii U (Bought this during the launch hype. Perhaps I bought it too soon, but I'm enjoying it greatly now)
-DS (I got this along with a bunch of other games in exchange for a 3DS XL that I wasn't using much)
-PS3 (I wanted to branch out, and I'm glad I did. Lots of good times were had with this)
