There won't be a performance difference worth noting, especially for the average Joe. PS4 wins in specs. This is all there is to know at this point.

Wow. Why even say anything if it's considered baseless?
I've already explained why I think Xbox One is stronger, and why PS4 is more flexible. The same argument applies to the Wii U for crying out loud...

EDIT: @You_Silly_Human
I strongly suggest getting the Xbox One if specs don't matter, but you still want 4K.

Are graphics all that will matter? I don't know enough to chime in myself but I saw this at sony E3

Edit: Honestly I want whatever console will play the evil within better, haha

That's normal. I never see a working demo of a PS Vita, so it doesn't surprise me PS4 would act up the same.
Even PS3 crashes for no reason sometimes.

but it was in such a short time... it only had to be perfect for like an hour

My 3DS crashes, PS3 crashes, and I see 360's crash in lets plays. Yes PS4 will just crash. Buy an Xbone crash free.

I understand you want the console that will just run the game(s) better. I think it will be the Xbox One. I'm not basing this off of BS either.

Microsoft(and even Nintendo) knows exactly what their console can do, and Sony doesn't which is apparent in that video.

Specs don't mean anything if you can't even get a proper OS to run the damn thing. That's exactly what happened in the video.

You're basing it off of facts that you make up in your head. That's pretty close to being BS.

You wonder why people say you're horribly biased.. How can you deny it when I say hardware power will not determine how all games run and I tell the original poster to wait on reviews.. yet you say for sure the Xbox One will run games better based off of actual facts that you can't provide?

OP, wait on reviews. If you listen to Scar, you deserve whatever comes to you. lol

@AlexSays
You're right, let's just wait until they release. By that time the Wii U should be picking up as well.

What a novel idea. Too bad most people won't follow such advice...

I will ask one more question, then you can let this thread die if you wish...

Unknown factors aside, I want to ask a question based on the hard numbers that have been released from each company for their systems, nothing to do with ports or developers.

My final 1 question is, and because I have not one clue about this stuff, with the current numbers present with the CPU, do just the sheer numbers on paper indicate the xbox one could have an advantage when speaking about processing large amounts of data at once? ( A good example of what I am talking about is, say 10+ cars exploded simultaneously on your screen )

Do the numbers indicate the xbox one could possibly have this kind of advantage to handle more data at once ( on paper )? Because they have 3GB ( I believe ) dedicated to the OS? Or does what I say not make sense, because I have no clue if it does lol.

Strictly looking at the numbers, it would appear as if a game that completely maxed out the PS4 would have certain aspects that are better than a game that completely maxed out the Xbox One. The ram dedicated towards the OS isn't necessarily a positive, many believe it takes away from the ram available for games.

But again, none of this matters. Wait until games are actually released, and go from there. 95% of developers on either platform will not use the console to its full potential, and developers largely control which platform a game is best on. There may be a slight difference (negligible to most people) in exclusives (ie. Naughty Dog could very likely outshine any Xbox One game) but multiplatform games are dependent upon other factors, and there's no telling what will happen this early on.

If you admittedly have no clue about this stuff though, you may very well never notice a difference, so don't worry about it. Whatever difference there is will be fought amongst those of us that count leaves on trees to determine which system plays a game better. If there is just one game or a select few in particular you are worried about, like the original post suggests, just wait for reviews. Regardless of hardware power, there could always be a scenario where a game just doesn't run properly or as well as its cross platform counterpart, ie. Skyrim.

Do you have any facts to back up your claim that the increased RAM towards the OS would hurt and not help? Even though I'm in the dark with this stuff it still doesn't make sense to me that an OS having more ram would be bad.. Isn't the OS the brain and the Graphics card the heart?

I didn't really ask if each system was maxed out what would be the outcome ( known as exclusives ), as I already know that games on the ps4 that are exclusive and " maxed out " would probably look better, and that really isn't debatable.

However what is, is the importance you place upon the OS RAM, For example under situations with multiplatform games, where the xbox one and the ps4 both won't be maxed out, so I don't know if the extra ram to the GPU would help say if as I mentioned above " ten cars exploded " Since it wouldn't be maxed out, and also a higher latency because of how the ps4 is designed * ( however I heard it will simply offload the extra latency onto the GPU but I don't know if that means its a perfect situation or not )

  • wouldn't that mean that on paper the xbox one has an advantage under very stressful multiplatform situations? If say the games only need X amount of ram to function at the level the developers will be reaching for towards graphics, then whats the extra RAM for the graphics and the extra lat even if its being offloaded do for the ps4 that would be good? and how would the xbox ones amount of OS ram be bad?lol 1 question indeed... that's always been my problem..

This is hopeless. Buy a Xbox One so you're not on PSN.

Seriously though, at this point you're just confusing yourself. Ram for the OS doesn't help with games, it helps with other functions. Ram dedicated for games is important for the functions you are describing, and in that case the PS4 seemingly has more available, which can only be a good thing. In addition to its seemingly stronger gpu, more teraflops also cannot be a bad thing.

Simply put, on paper the PS4 has a larger ceiling for computations. Will it matter for most games? No. Will you ever notice a difference? Probably not. Does that mean every PS4 game will run better than the same game on the Xbox One? Of course not.

Save yourself (and myself) the brainpower you are trying to use to understand this, and simply wait for comparisons once multiplatform games are released.

Is it me or do sony fanboys always seem angry at the world?

Anyway I hear you loud and clear snoopy, and I will be getting a ps4, and an xbox one. ( This was just for multiplatform games if you actually read the original post )PSN Is You_Silly_Humans so make sure you don't forget.

However I do thank you for the information.

Make sure to add me so I can go halo 2 dirty all over your face. if ya know what I mean man

You_Silly_Human

Yes, I am a super angry fanboy for saying the differences will likely be negligible and you should wait before making a decision.

Please buy your multiplatform games on the Xbox One so I don't run into you on PSN.

If this is what the conversation has devolved into, i'm assuming you've gotten whatever information you need from it.
