New Spongebob is freaking terrible. I was babysitting my cousin's daughter the other day and I watched it with her. The whole time I sat there scratching my head wondering what happened to one of my favourite childhood shows. I kept looking up at the clock, wondering when little Sarah and I could finally have our tea party so I wouldn't have to subjected to the slaughter of my childhood for a moment longer.
I feel like there are so many that I have seen over the years that I can't even begin to list them. I'll probably read someone else's post later on and have that "oh yeah that show sucked too" moment.

Cartoon Studios have always tried to turn their characters into kids if they think they can make a quick profit - "A Pup Named Scooby Doo" is a much better example of cashing in on kids.. but every character from Roadrunner to Mickey Mouse and even Power Rangers have gone through a "we need to make them more like their audience" phase.
My personal least favourite cartoons are ANYTHING 4Kids have produced... so 4Kids version of One Piece, 4Kids version of Yu-Gi-Oh, 4Kids version of "insert ruined Japanese property here".

Johnny Test. Laziest animation ever and most obnoxious humor ever. And literally EVERYTHING in the show requires a whip crack sound effect with it for some reason! The show just can't go 2 seconds without using that damn sound effect!
The worst show has to one that hasn't even aired, and by worst, I mean awesomely bad. Mr. Pickles - Warning, major gore and sexual content. This is one of those pilots on Adult swim and by far it is the sickest one, I really can't see this having weight to bring on its own show though.
Have to agree that any cartoon on Nick nowadays is trash, unless that new Avatar show is still airing. Cartoon Network has some decent stuff, and Disney Channel has Gravity Falls, which is the best cartoon I've seen in a while. The worst cartoon I can think of is, if this counts as a cartoon, (It's CGI) Ratatoing. This movie is worse than Foodfight. And it's horrifying.

The worst cartoon I've ever seen is probably "Uncle Grandpa" on Cartoon Network. It's extremely unrealistic (even for a cartoon) and the plot could've been written by a 5 year old!

Johnny test is crap and it outlives better cartoons due to be being so cheap to make. I wouldn't consider them horrinle but the current spider-man/Avengers cartoons are worse than their predecessors.

A lot of (but not all) Canadian made cartoons suck. If you're Canadian, you'll probably know what I'm talking about. Some of those really stupid Canadian/French cartoons that aired on Teletoon and YTV, and you groaned whenever they came on.
Most cartoons I consider to be bad usually last way over 5 seasons. There are a few exceptions to this rule though. Two of the bad ones have been mentioned here (Spongebob and Johnny Test).
