Code Geass is legitly terrible. I liked it, but mostly because it's entertaining, often in ways it's not supposed to be. It's over-the-top, nonsensicle, abrasive, even offensive, and caught in a huge wave of escalation while utilizing big concepts the writers clearly don't understand. But It was everything it wanted to be and I love it for that.

Code Geass was beyond loathsome. I hated every second of it. Never before had I seen an anime that actually angered me to watch. All of its characters were offensively awful and the psuedo-intellectual babble constantly irritated me. That's what happens when a writer tries to write characters that are smarter than he/she is though. Lelouch isn't a genius. He's just an omniscient placeholder for the writer. He knows things because the writer knows things. It's the worst form of storytelling. Halfway through the second season, it starts to get physically sickening because you know how it's going to end 10 episodes before it does, and then the pacing slows to a near-standstill while you watch 10 episodes consisting entirely of Lelouch being a monstrous douchebag.

Geh, I was just going to say Mars of Destruction or Pupa or something, but I've changed my mind. MoD and Pupa are both fun to laugh at. CG is just offensively terrible.

You may enjoy Skelter Heaven by the same director.

For me it is Beyblade Metal Fusion, Masters, and fury

They're children advertisement anime and for what they are I wouldn't say they're the worst. Idk why the hell I'm defending beyblade spin-offs that are legitimately bad. I wanna say Buddy Fight is the world kids anime.

Anyways, in general I don't know what I'd call the worst. I tend to block that out. Some hentai I'm sure.

@CanisWolfred you mean IGPX? Toonami funded it themselves or something.

Worst one ever? My vote goes to Duel Masters. Terrible characters, terrible VA's, terrible jokes. No noteworthy plot whatsoever. What's not to hate?

Diel Masters was actually better than it had any right to be, if only because it made drastic changes from the original show, which was as bland as they come.

I can't say I blame you, but honestly, what you described is exactly why I enjoyed it. Watching Lelouch troll the world was awe-inspiring.

The first season of Dog Days was okay, but after I got to the second season they did something that was not okay. To put it in simply, the magical girl transformation in Dog Days S2 was by far the worst I've ever seen. It was so disgusting I had to stop watching. I'm not even sure how it got by with a PG-13 rating in NA.

To be fair, it was an attempt at parody through exaggeration. Most magical shows have nude transformation scenes involving underage girls, which is creepy enough. They were making a point by making the transformation scene even more creepy than usual to say "transformation scenes are rediculously freakin' creepy". Granted, I don't think it was a good parody, but still, IIRC, it was a one-off joke. I don't recall it ever happening again.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.

To be clear, I liked the battles between the EVAs and the Angels but I could not stand the characters and the constant melodrama they kept going on and on about. Almost all of the characters I found to be either completely unlikeable, annoying, or a combination of the two.

It's hard to say, because I mostly watch what is/has been on the Toonami & Adult Swim action blocks, and most of it has at least been okay.

I guess I will say IGPX (which just never grabbed me), the second season of Big O (which was just disappointing compared to the first), Casshern Sins (which I just found boring), and End of Evangelion (didn't make any sense).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Just to be clear, End of Eva aside, I quite liked the original Evangelion. In fact, I've watched it through 3 times, and I rewatched the final episode at least 10 times by now. The characters were unlikeable. They were never meant to be. They were incredibly flawed human beings, and you were supposed to hate them for it. The characters exist to tell the story and portray its themes. Do I think the show could've done a lot better job with its story and themes? Yes, which is why I'm glad the Rebuild series exists, which so far seems to be doing a much better job. Still, I don't regret watching the original series at all and still find it pretty facinating.

Can't we just discuss what our worst anime are here?

Dont see why we need separate threads.

Because using one general thread to talk about everything means not much discussion gets made about anything. We don't keep all the movie and TV discussion in one thread, now do we? (Though I know you've tried) That thread is good for talking about what you watched recently, as well as news and small discussions like what your favorite OP/ED are. For something more focused like this, it's best to leave it as it's own thread, IMO.

I don't watch enough anime, anymore. Even so, my award goes to Cat Planet Cuties. But why stop there? Let's just award it to every single-core herem comedy anime that draws you in with sex appeal and only keeps you through the promise of blatant fan service throughout the series and out right giving it to you in the OVA.

(Dis)Honorable mention goes to Sword Art Online for its absolutely infuriating second core where they just drop everything that happened in the last twelve episodes and only revisit the characters at the end to shut the fans up. TBF, both sets of thirteen episodes were fine on their own. What's infuriating is the transition, which us abrupt enough even for me to notice it.

The UGXloggery ... really needs an update.

Harems are bad and should feel bad. Cat Planet Cuties was better than the average harem, though, IIRC. And I see Ben-To was labeled a harem? I don't remember that part...that was actually a pretty fun show, though I only watched it as a pallette cleanser.

Gantz. Even though i have a gantz character as my avatar thingy, the anime was way too slow and had an awful ending. However, the gantz manga suffered from a horrible ending aswell, lead by a disappointing final arc.
