Well, you can upgrade PC parts, but you can't upgrade MAC, AFAIK. By the time you upgrade whatever parts you want, which isn't even an option on MAC, and get the newest OS, I would think that might be a better option or equal oprion for people who keep up to date with this sort of thing, anyway.

So upgrading your PC and Windows OS is about as good, if not better than buying a MAC you can't change the parts of, but the OS updates are included. If that makes sense.

It's possible on the most recent models, but it's not as easy as it used to be. If you have a 2012 computer or newer, it's simple to upgrade. My Mac Pro is really easy, actually.

Yes. This looks like a mix between W7 and W8, but with more W7.

Glad I didn't switched to 8.

Looking forward to switch to W10 when its released
(should have called it W9...)

At least I can stick wth Windows 7 until the beginning of 2020.

And in case you're confused, I run both Mac OS X and Windows 7 on my computer.

I know you upgrade RAM or HDDs in MAC computers, but PC still has the benefit of upgrading GPU, CPU, etc. That's why I'm saying that by the time you pay $100 for the new Windows OS, if you want more performance, that's actually an option on PC.

Having an up to date PC including $100 current OS is ultimately a better choice than having a MAC computer that comes with OS updates, AFAIK. I think PC is cheaper, too, and it has more programs that do more, so I wouldn't even bother with Apple computers.

It is possible to upgrade the CPU and GPU on my computer, but upgrading the CPU is a little pricey. If I get to that point, I'd rather sell my computer and buy another one off of eBay.

Ya, so by the time you do upgrade, you just have a better computer from a Windows PC. You can buy the super expensive MACs, but they don't really do anything better than what PC does. This is just the way I see it, so the only reason why you would buy a MAC over PC is if you like Apple or however they have their programs setup.

I never buy Macs retail. I can't afford it, but considering that I get free OS upgrades and free iLife and iWork apps (very helpful in college!), as well as having more simplicity and better stability, it's worth it. We poke fun at Nintendo with their stability updates, but Apple puts them to shame, at least for OS X.

That makes more sense, except the part about Nintendo. If Apple was still using PowerPC to make MAC, then the criticism would be relevant to Nintendo.

Simply put, I was saying that the stability that Mac OS X has is unparalleled to any other.

Ugh, if only my PC had lasted two more years. Though I suppose I couldn't have gotten a high-performance PC with a video card for $700 if I had waited 2 more years just to not have Windows 8...oh well, I'll update mid-2016 if people are happy with it, maybe getting a new Wireless card and/or video card while I'm at it ($1000 MSRP for this computer and I didn't even get a wireless card...also could use a slightly beefier video card, too).

I don't get what you mean. Wii U is a better computer than PS3. The only thing separating PC and MAC is software and brand.

@brewsky
I get what you mean, but in terms of hardware, it only makes sense to expect different support from machines that have different system architectures. That's why it doesn't make sense to compare MAC to anything but PC anymore. They used to call Nintendo "the Apple of video games," because they both used PowerPC, but Apple bailed and started using ×86. On literal terms, you can't compare Apple to Nintendo anymore; only PC.
