Hello there all of you Nintendo-Fans
Since i have heard about the possibility to create books out of articles in the Wikipedia - and also some other wikis -, one idea began to take shape in my head: Why not create a "Encyclopedia Hyrulia" which might contain all information about the "Legend of Zelda"-Games one can find on Wikipedia? There is a service to get those books printed, which might be a nice and pleasant way to get all informations about the various games, persons, locations etc etc in a handy and good looking format for offline-research.
Just for the joy of a first test i started to create my own "Part 1" of this project. It is very easy to gather the needed informations since there is a tool integrated on the Wikipedia-homepage called "Book Creator" which - after being enabled - gives the choice to include every article in a book. So i went on looking which way my project might take. A lot of wikipedians had written very much about the "Zelda"-series, so i choose to split the encyclopedia in various parts.
Part One will gather all informations about the Nintendo games from NES to Wii. A few games might be left out, for example "A Link to the Past" for GBA which is a remake of the SNES-game and mentioned in that article. Still this part of the encyclopedia has 283 pages with several chapters for every console. Printed this might cost around 15 Euros / 18,60 $. The second part would gather informations about Hyrule, its places and the Zelda-universe. The third part about the characters, races and special people in the Zelda games.
It would be a pleasure for me if some of you consider helping me. Every suggestion about topics for the "Encyclopedia Hyrulia" you find on en.wikipedia.org would be nice and of great help. Why not create those books together so that every interested Zelda-fan will have the chance to read all about their favorite series?
I am looking forward to suggestions and comments. Maybe this is a way for me an others to say "thank you" to the fine people who maintain "Nintendolife" Off course the books would be created by "The Wikipedians & Nintendolife Users" if you - the people of nintendolife - has nothing to say against it.
Thank you for reading this long forum topic & for you interest. Have a nice time playing your favorite games, reading nintendolife - and maybe in gathering informations for "our" encyclopedia. Greetings to you all, Andi

A very nice idea (I actually once considered something similar with the Sonic franchise a few years back). I'd love to dive in and help on this but I've got waaay too many things on the go at the moment. However, I will say that if you're looking for material to put in your book, there's an inexhaustible wealth over at http://www.zeldawiki.org. Maybe those guys would like to help you out with your idea too, can't hurt to ask. They're a friendly bunch.
Best of luck with it~
