People on Twitter say stuff like "the next big Nintendo game will be released in 2020" and people just flock to them like crazy, even though there's absolutely no proof at all, just words, why so people actually go to these and believe them
Has someone made a thread yet detailing all the leakers with all of their right and wrong predictions so we can decide for ourselves if someone is credible or not?
Somewhat related, a fairly prominent Nintendo leaker, Ryan Hernadez also known as "Ryan Rocks" has plead guilty to hacking into Nintendo's servers and possessing child pornography. He looks to be serving about 25 years in prison.
Anyone know if any other prominent leakers associated with him or used his forum?
@Doofenshmirtz Many don’t believe the leaks, but talk about them anyway. It’s a relatively slow news cycle lately, so people are just discussing them more than usual.
@Toy_Link lemme get this straight, a dude got arrested for having child pornography and hacking nintendos servers, and all you're worried about is what video games this person will make guesses on?
@Doofenshmirtz
I’m trying to figure out why you think all I’m worried about is “what video games this person will make guesses on“?
I don’t care about that at all, he’s not going to be able to leak for about 20+ years.
I’m just asking if any prominent leakers were “good friends” with him, so I can just automatically dispose of whatever they say if they were in his ring.
@Doofenshmirtz Because every now and then, someone guesses right. And when someone guesses right once, people think he or she is charmed or has some insider info and start to give them more credit.
But the fact is, there are thousands, maybe even millions of people guessing about this stuff. Someone is going to guess right, and even though it was just a guess, people will buy into it.
Throw enough crap at the wall and something is bound to stick.

It's just simple confirmation bias. These 'leaks' are a dime a dozen with so many people throwing ideas into the void. Eventually some track true and people hold onto those while discounting all of the incorrect ones along the way.
