Topic: Why are we so focused on the end of the world?

To be fair, humanity has been in some much worse situations than it is in right now. Whether it be the plaque & poverty of the Dark Ages, the Spanish Flu epidemic & WWI in the 1910's, the great depression, dust bowl, & WWII in the 1930's & 1940's, or many other events throughout history.

I'm not saying things aren't tough right now for some parts of the world (and the Middle East has been in conflict on & off for the past few thousand years), but it's nothing that's signaling the end of the world.

Could the world end next year? Sure, but it's also just as likely to happen 100, 1,000, or 1 million years from now as well. It's something that can't be predicted.

As you can tell, predictions of the end of the world have been going on for centuries.

Now, to get back on topic (sort of), I used to watch Looney Toons all the time as a kid (as a matter of fact, when we went to Disney World, I mistakingly said Daffy Duck instead of Donald Duck, lol).

Of course, now I spend much more time with Disney's properties (thanks to Kingdom Hearts), although I've recently caught a few episodes of that new Looney Toons Show, for the heck of it (although the CGI Roadrunner segments are uuuugly).

Oh, guess this is the third EOTW prediction to be off this year. Check out the countless misses over the centuries! Millions of years from now, after the world has evolved past humans, our replacement, their replacement, etc., someone will get it right maybe.

btw, what constitutes the end of the world? The world making like Alderran and exploding, or the end of us humans? Self-centered lot we are, I gues we think the world ends with us (no pun, TWEWY fans ).

@Barbie_Gurl Haven't you been told not to post stuff about religion before? No offence but NintendoLife does have a rule where we are not meant to spark debates about religion ok? I'm not against religion but I don't see why it has to be discussed on this website. Please @Barbie_Gurl I really would like to see all of us being open-minded and multi-opinionated, but just not have someone force their beliefs on others.

Anyway, look nobody can predict the EOTW and I am still hearing people saying that it's "gonna happen", please make it stop people I really have tried to keep my mind open to any such possibilty, but this is just absurd. I know none of you care that it's now the 22nd here where I live (NZ), but If it was gonna happen, it would've happened already and I see no Planet X/ Nibiriru, Black hole, UFO/ Alien Invasion etc appearing anytime soon.
Let's get on with our lives and let's just celebrate the Holiday season ok? We have that to look forward to and we should all be happy, Play some Nintendo or spend some time with friends or family, or whatever, there's no use thinking about this subject because the fact is, we'll never know until it happens, if ever in our lifetime.

What's sad about all of this is there are some of us who think we really think the world's ending, when really we're just trying to make it a joke and have a good laugh about it.

Well, if someone had successfully predicted the end of the world, then we wouldn't be here to discuss it, would we?

The human species will be hit by a catastrophe at some point that will wipe us out. Not in our lifespan I hope, but it will happen. It's silly to say 'it's never happened in the past so it won't happen in the future.' Especially considering it has happened numerous times in earth's history, per human-era.

I will be willing to bet that someone will even get lucky and predict the end of the world. Statistics would suggest that out of billions of people, someone will guess right.

Ice Age! You know.. Since I have it, I might just watch it right now...

Fun fact: The world did in fact end.
We are all currently living in an enormous Holodeck simulation.
It was all Paul Sorvino's idea.

Why is it that so many good things are happening today despite that we would all end?

Darn! The one thing I was looking foward to in the apoclypse was Justin Beaver and 1 Infection going out of bussiness. Oh well. I beat Majora's Mask to 100%.
