Topic: Why are we so focused on the end of the world?

I have lived to see 7 or 8 "end of the world" predictions come and go, including the once infamous Y2K one (and 1984, 88, 95, 99, etc.) People can be so ignorant. They get uber excited at the thought of life on earth being obliterated. That kind of thinking belongs in a video game, not in reality. So wake up, it's December 21, 2012, and WE ARE ALL STILL HERE! And life goes on, as it always does.

If there's anything dafter than people proclaiming the end of the world, it's people who feel it necessary to proclaim that it's not the end of the world.

supposedly,a meteor that could destroy the earth was supposed to come at 5:15 AM in each time zone,but there was no meteor! SO SHUT UP ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

Perhaps they miscalculated, or they put in A instead of P. I'm sure the world's ending later today.

Seriously, It was never gonna happen, I knew this before the Media brought it up and also I'm more inclined to believe the professional scientists then any religious order or cult.

The Mayans were in NA so the time frame they predicted is not over yet, you still could die. The Mayans dec 21st is not your dec 21st.
