There's an explanation to that episode? You mean it has a happier ending?! I need to see that Bender's Big Score then, 'cause the first time I saw that episode I was down for like a week. And every time I catch a glimpse of it (doesn't have to be the end, just enough for me to remember how that episode ended), my whole day gets ruined.
I need closure to that episode.

i know what you mean -- i cried like a baby the first time i saw it. thought i'd be okay the next time it came up in syndication, but i couldn't bear to sit through it again knowing how it would end. Bender's Big Score does provide some closure, and it's funny to boot, so watch it and win-win, man :3

@Spaceboy: Full House is in syndication at the moment, but i forget what channel it's on.

Yes that show will be missed. I was glad whenever it was added to Adult Swim. Now I have an reason to watch Cartoon Network.

They already did. It's replacement is The Cleveland Show if I'm not mistaken.

The_Fox

If I recall the rumor correctly, Mike Judge ran afoul with some higher ups at Fox years ago (who knows why) so they have been itching to get rid of it for some time. The flagging ratings just gave them a reason.

Some research tells me that ABC might pick it up in the future but they currently have no plans. It did have a really long run time, but damn, I just don't feel ready to let it go. It's a huge part of my life, almost as much as the Simpsons. Does anybody know the possibility of exclusive new episodes to Adult Swim? Probably not too high huh... Not enough money or viewers. I'm just sick over this.

@Spaceboy: considering Luanne was probably my favorite character on that show, i hate to say it, but they apparently ended it in the nick of time. and they went out with probably the nicest kind of episode they could, one with Hank and Bobby finally bonding for real over a shared interest. :3

There was talk about ABC picking it up for one or two seasons, and pairing it with Judge's "The Goode Family" (which i didn't watch but looked atrocious). As that show has (i think) been quickly cancelled (or just not given a full-season order), it's not likely. All indications that i've read are that KotH is done. I too am glad it's on Adult Swim, though it's also in syndication on a couple channels in the NY market.

Everybody had a favorite character. Mine was Dale. So much more could have happened. They could have turned this into a totally epic soap opera for one whole season and made the rating jump through the roof. If anything, this is just a harsh awakening for how depressed I'll be when the Simpsons comes to an end. I wanted my kids to grow up with it just like I did.

I could rant for days about these cartoons. I used to love the Simpsons but got bored of it when every episode seemed to be about the Simpsons visiting some place in the world and running into endless celebrities. The best episodes were, by far, the earlier ones. Back when Bart was a cool rebel instead of a geek, Lisa was smart but not a child prodigy and Homer was dumb at times yet witty and smart at others instead of just plain, outright stupid. I have to admit, though, it still does get a few laughs. I thought the Simpsons movie brought the series back on track - until it was ruined half way through with that whole stupid dome thing. Still, despite all these flaws, it will always be remembered as one of television's greats.

Agreed, and if you've been watching recently they've certainly been doing a good job with going back to how they used to be, slowly but surely

I don't know about you guys, but I always thought the newer seasons were way more funny than the earlier seasons. I know it's kind of shallow but I never cared much for the story in The Simpsons. Just the comedy.

King of the Hill I absolutely love as well. Futurama I'm not a huge fan but I still like it. That's one of the reasons I like Aussie Subscription TV. Massive animation block of King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy and another Simpsons to round things off.

for those who didn't know--Brittany Murphy, who voiced Luanne Platter (that name alone is amazing for anyone who's ever lived near a Luby's Cafeteria) passed away a few months back. The show ended beforehand (final episode was last summer I think) but it was mighty sad--she was a pretty good actress from what I saw, and Luanne was an awesome character. Swerd Murd's daily

The Simpsons is the only thing keeping me from officially declaring Fox a dead network. Matt Groening is one of the greatest minds in all the animation industry.

The Simpsons is awesome. It is actually fairly smart humour (compared to Family Guy) to boot. I also remember Home Improvement, and a ton of other great ones. Cheers is probably my favourite sit-com. There characters were great, humour was great too. I remember the episode where Diane leaves and her and Sam were all like, we'll see each other again. But when she was leaving he said have a good life and it nearly brought me to tears...tears man!

Family Guy does have it's moments, but to me it's just a bunch of random jokes. You don't really feel that the family really cares about one another like you do with The Simpsons. To me, Family Guy just doesn't have heart. While I admit that the later episodes of The Simpsons are nowhere near as good as the first 10 seasons or so, I still think it is well written and clever.

Put simply, The Simpsons is the best sitcom of all time, animated or otherwise. I will never outgrow the show.

I liked The Simpsons before it became, well, awful. I liked Family Guy before jocks really got into it. Some episodes of Futurama are sublime, but I don't see it as either that or The Simpsons, they cater for different things. I think it's difficult for any sit-com to match the very best Simpsons episodes. Family Guy has very good bits, but that's just it; it's almost a sketch show. I think South Park makes very good satirical points, but usually isnt as funny as The Simpsons. That said, the South Park movie was immensely better.

An animated series that I thought was very good & is often overlooked is Stressed Eric.

So, I like The Simpsons, but like most successful US shows it should have finished long ago.
