I was just thinking about this the other day since I recently completed NSMB on DS again and then immediately started playing the sequel on Wii. I feel like the DS version has better level designs, although NSMBW has some neat ones later on in the game. The DS game has more compact levels, meaning there's challenges and enemies in more abundance in the game; NSMBW's levels often have big open spaces with a much lower count of enemies and hazards because it was designed with having four players on the screen at once in mind.
"Designed for multiplayer?" "Frustrating single player experience?" What? What game are you talking about? O.o
What game do you think I'm talking about? New Super Mario Wii. Many people have already noted this. It's not like I'm saying anything new or out there.

Obviously a joke. You are the only person I have seen on the internet thats said those 2 things. NSMBWii wasn't that hard and worked fine for single player.

It's not a joke but I'm too lazy to prove it. I'll just say you've obviously been living under a rock and leave it at that.

I put the " O.o " because it was a joke. And can you explain why NSMBW was a frustrating single experience and built for multiplayer?
i'd have to say NSMB:DS just because NSMBW's levels were made for multiplayer and if you played them on multiplay then your team members would pick you up and throw you off the ledge, or eat you and spit you down a never ending mountain of regret of buying a second wiimote.
Out of every time I've ever been to gamestop I've only seen one man eat a pair of pants.
Between the two definitely the Wii game. There's more levels and stages overall, but the designs are a lot more varied and interesting too. The DS game is pretty small, very straight forward, fairly limited on abilities, and the morons locked 2 full worlds away unless you figure out using the micro mushroom to get the other ending in a couple boss stages will get you there effectively potentially locking away a 1/3 of the game. : The DS one I found boring, took me forever to bother finishing it, now the other 'Super Mario Bros' games I enjoy far more, and while the Wii one is nice, neither of them feel 'right' compared to the previous entries.

What? Playing multiplayer in NSMB Wii is hilarious and fun! You must have some jerk friends. Don't blame the game for that.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
