What do you do when you get really angry at a game that's so hard or is just really grinding your gears with things like rubberband AI? Do you punch things? Break controllers (if so, how many?), Do you Book a trip to somewhere exotic ?

My past experiences on the subject: I usually have a very long tolerance for things happening in games that annoy me (like constantly losing in brawl and just lately getting passed by a rubberband AI in mario kart at the very end of the race on the last level of the circuit twice consecutively). However, if i reach a breaking point, I will admit...things go through walls (if im playing with no one around). In my history, i have broken two gamecube controllers (actually bit an analog stick of one before i did the throwdown) and one nunchuck...I am a recovering smasher. Now, as soon as i start losing constantly or get ticked, i quickly switch games to something like galaxy where i can play the first level over and over since i will always win, or if i won't last that long or know i can't take my mind of the previous game, i quickly press the home button and run to do something else far away. every now and then i do lose my temper though, so i have my wiimote jacket, and a massive beanie bag that if i want to throw the controller into ill throw it in that since the bag will stop the force xD

i take a deep breath, focus all my anger into my right arm and give one good hard punch to my right leg it hurts but it helps me get past a lvl without becoming a nuke

Haha wow I understand you I get really angry while playing somtimes, too. But I'm always careful with my consoles when I'm totally upset I focus on laying down the controller/handheld down normal and then I normally lay on my bed and press my face into my pillow.
That way I don't destroy my consoles AND I don't hurt myself acidentally since you know...a pillow is soft

Ive never tried laying down, does it actually help? My problem id assume with that is ur still thinking about the game a lot since ur just...lieing down quietly, making ur mind go through thoughts...and your thoughts are about the game your mad about lol. I prefer music cuz then im hearing noises to disrupt my thoughts. might try the lieing down strategy tho, never tried it before.

Well, just a while ago I was trying to unlock Dry Bowser on Mario Kart, had to try three times before I finally got it.
I did what I usually do, punch the couch, cry, bang on the floor, cry, get really mad, and cry.
I tend to pick games which get really hard for me eventually, I don't know why but I just do.
I also tend to take all of my anger and frustration out on those around me. (Needless to say, get away from me when I play about 95% of any video games I have. XD)

When I get mad at a game, I get angry, and when I'm angry, I suddenly do better and accomplish what I'm trying to do.

It's weird.

just the other day i was losing to my friend in brawl and whenever somethingn happened he would go:
"OHHH look at that dodge!!! OHHH egg throw!!! OHHH i just kicked you not with ONE leg but with TWO!!!"
He was just joking but it annoyed me so much so i started shouting at the top of my voice mocking him and hes like "dude shut up"
so i suddenly got a ton better. angry fuels me. like the hulk.

i ALMOST smashed a controller many times before by chucking it at the first target i see

usually i am actually a mellow gamer, when i lose one of those platformers and have to start over i just sigh, and stare my wii to death

When I get angry at a game, I insult it. Games don't like it when I tell them their mother never loved them and that they have no friends.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Usually breaking/throwing/squeezing things helps me release frustration. But what usually gets under my skin more than something in the game is when i get mildly irritated and a nearby person says that awful phrase, “It's just a game”. Now THAT is what really get's me going.

Sell them like I did with Mario Kart Wii. When a game like that becomes so unfun due to seemingly having no control over end results I can't be bothered to keep it around. Let someone else be tortured by it.

As for games that are actually intentionally designed to be tough, I tend to curse a lot at my TV. Those instances are far and few between though, as I've noticed that as I grow older I don't want to be frustrated by games so I avoid most games that are deemed difficult. I just care about having fun. That said, I still enjoy getting my ass kicked in Contra 4. That's one of the very few games of its type that makes me laugh as I lose lives. It's a bit odd alright.

Only thing that gets under my skin, is when the power cuts out. Say i have been playing Majoras Mask for example, when i can't save. And lose my whole 3 days. I just put the controller down, and walk away.
However, usually, if i lose, or get defeated, and it isnt cheap. I will have a laugh, because it doesn't happen that much in this day and age. Game Overs that is.

I tend to get VERY loud when a game pisses me off, and I have a lot of trouble taking a break from it, even though I know I'll do better coming back fresh later on. Sometimes I pound on my leg or a nearby stuffed animal. Sometimes I do get pissed off enough to turn off the game, lie down, and sulk. I've never broken a controller in anger, at least.

For me it depends on the source of the anger/frustration -- do i keep getting killed because a boss or level section is hard? That's frustrating, but i can deal with that anger. It's the flawed-AI/flawed-camera/glitch deaths kind of stuff that really drives me nuts.

Like playing Dead RIsing (360) a whiles back, going for the "Frank the Pimp" ach. (escort i think 8 female survivors back to the safe room at once). It's a bit of a hard one, but only really because the AI in the game is so flawed (as in running repeatedly into walls and getting stuck on the environment flawed), and because it takes a bit of time to set up. After like a dozen tries, i screamed and threw my controller across the room, cracking it open. Still works actually, but sometime the L analog stick drifts. =)

But generally, i just usually get to a certain level of "COME ON!! WHAT THE @$#^@$#!" like in those commericals for GameFly. =)

I will either say some not so nice words or get on Nintendo Life.

When I get frustrated with a game, my anger progress with these three steps:
1. Scream
2. Throw the controller/stylus
3. Turn off the game and mutter some not so nice words.

After an hour or so I return and play again.
