When you get confused when you hear people describe the first Castlevania or the first Mega Man as "hard".

She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.
Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

When you get all 3 star coins on world 9-7 on New Super Mario Bros or you beat the original Zelda back in the day with out the internet to walk you through it.

A game that you would have to beat and would have the right to call yourself an advanced gamer is... Blaster Master on the NES.

Advanced gamers can come in many forms and not just NES. So many people consider only retro titles to be hardcore/advanced etc. If you can beat Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on veteran and/or have a online kill/death ratio of 1000+ kills over deaths, I would consider them to be an advanced gamer.

On the other hand I wouldnt consider someone who 100% completes New Super Mario Bros DS to be advanced as the game is too easy. Galaxy 2 and 240 stars well definately land you that title from me.

Gaming skills really just come from how much you play and/or how many systems you play on. Ive been gaming for 25 years now and it really takes a good bit to stump me hard. Im not saying there arent things I prob cant beat as I know there are Ikaruga being one of just pushes my nerves to the limit, but lets say grabbing a new racing game, adventure game, etc Im going to put it on hard difficulty everytime and beat it. If its a hardcore title, then it depends on how I like the gameplay style as to if I go back and tackle a harder difficulty level. I beat Mega Man 9 and had a blast, Ive still yet to push through Mega Man 10 as all the time I spent on Mega Man 9 kinda burned me on the series for a good while.

I know Im an advanced gamer, but my hardcore days I think are really slipping away somewhat. I used to play the extemely hard titles to death and loved it, now I find it hard to find the patience to make it through some of them unless I really like the game. Stress wasnt too much a factor in the younger days I guess.

You don't think I know this?
Blaster Master is just the first game that came to mind, dude.
