Are you kidding? If your not, than try playing the game first. You can't believe everything you read online.

What part of that are you saying is untrue?

No bonus content. Are you saying that concept art, an added reward system, and "buying" bonus content with those rewards isn't bonus content? The graphics is only partially true. The graphics were improved, but because they removed minor effects that I don't pay attention to people got annoyed.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Those effects were only a part of MP1 for the European release.

Concept art? Ahem... "in the games". What content is there that you buy with those inserted 'rewards'?

It's yet again another set of lazy NPC games and a rerelease of a game not enhanced in any way a mere 2 years after its original release. You can forgive some reviewers for not being over the moon and not pouring glowing praise on three games they're already played before when they've been ever so graciously afforded the opportunity by Nintendo to buy again and pay Nintendo a second time for them.

Wii controls and some updated textures are good enough bonuses for me.
Critics raved the Orange Box. It got a 96. Its basically a compilation. Not really any big improvement there.
I think MPT should be rated for what it is, not for its background.
What it is: 3 of the best full size adventure games of all time with heavenly controls, for the price of one.

It only included 2 previously released games. Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal were all new games.

I don't know how you can possibly make a comparison.

Does it really matter if its old or new. A good game is a good game. If you have played them alll dont get it. That simple.
Again, the game's background shoudnt be a factor in a score. At least when it comes to this game. Because of it being a reelease of 3 old games is only a deciding fator to SOME people. They can easily read the review and look at what the game adds to the old versions. The fact of it being 3 old games shouldnt affect the score.
Question: Is MP1 worse than it was when it came out?

@Waltzelf- Yeah I like the kings field series. They had another game on ps2 (which I never finished) I don't believe it was a kings field title, though I think it was like it.

Sure, a good game is a good game, and that applies to if you're rating the original games now, but these games are being rereleased at current date, and so they are subject to modern, higher standards and expectations. For one, how original they are. They're not very original if a game just like them has already been released, and arguably many games have since come and improved on the open world/upgrade weapons formula.

No-one should expect that a game can be released and rereleased continuously and get the same score as the original did each time. Why should it?

Kings Field IV on the PS2 is my favourite game of all time, I think. it just DRIPS with atmosphere.

There's a spiritual successor on the PS3, I believe. Demon something-or-other. Almost got a PS3 when I heard about it.

From Software don't support Nintendo enough since people were too silly to buy the brilliant Lost Kindoms games on the Gamecube, so From thought it wasn't a profitable platform

Another criminally underrated series is the Kingdoms under Fire RPG/ RTS hybrid games.

I think Mark of Kri on PS2 is a pretty underated game. It had a very novel combat system that neatly merged both the stealth and brawler genre.

@Waltzelf-I played a bit of kf 1 and 2. Don't recall if I ever played a 3rd( I'm not even sure I knew it was out (can't remember). Was 3 actually called kings field 3? So there's a 4th to? When did these 2 come out. I haven't had a ps2 in a while, and never a ps3.

I dunno about 3 - I only played 1,2 and 4.

4 is the superior game. It's a very slow-paced FPRPG with a very heavy difficulty element and very dark, gothic atmosphere. Very brooding music, and the best, tightest dungeon design I've ever encountered in a game to-date.

I highly recommend tracking down a copy.

Another yes!!! I loved that game! I really wish I could get it on VC. You should do a retro review of it.
On a side note, Jamie did a great job on the Starfox review.
