So does anyone know about the PS2 or X-box ports of Marvel vs. Capcom 2? how do they fare compared to the Dreamcast or the Downloadable verisons that used to be on the market?
I agree with this. Grandia is a now-dead series with probably the best battle system of any turn-based RPG. Grandia II in particular is probably the best in the series too. And sure, the game has been ported to PS2 and PC, but the ports aren't as good as the original in this case. Hand-drawn spells, amazing battle system, amazing music, decent story, and one of the characters is voiced by the woman who did Ariel from Little Mermaid! LOL, she does a good job too.
Another amazing one on Dreamcast would be Skies of Arcadia. One of my personal favorite JRPGs of all time and once again it's much better on Dreamcast than the ported Gamecube version. Sure, the Gamecube version had more quests...but it's not worth the sacrifice in presentation. Seriously, if you're a fan of JRPGs at all you owe it to yourself to play this game.
I would say Sonic Adventure, but it's hard for me to recommend because the Sonic levels are great, but the other characters...not so much...
Evolution: World of Scared Device was also pretty fun if you like rogue-likes. Another hard one to recommend though because it's definitely not for everyone.
Hmm.... I'll look more forward to Grandia 2. I only have one problem though, my Dreamcast laser doesn't really like to read games, and I got stuck at the Sega Logo when it tried to load a game for me. Heck, even the Sega Saturn's laser was WAY better than Dreamcast's laser.
I loved Shenmue, Crazy Taxi and yes, Sonic Adventure.
Nvm, my friend doesn't have a Dreamcast, but he does have a GameCube version of Crazy Taxi. Is there any difference between DreamCast or GameCube
@unrandomsam I'm an American, and Shenmue 2 wasn't even released for the DreamCast in North America. That means I'll have to region mod my Dreamcast. :/
No doubt Sonic Adventure 2 and then followed by Sonic Adventure, though I prefer their Gamecube remakes. I played both of these games with my sister and my cousin like crazy at a time of my late childhood/teenage years that were some of the worst times of my life. We played both games a lot to sort of get away from everything else. We each had our own favorite characters picked out (Sonic for me) and everything. I don't know. I guess you had to be there but even hearing the music from those games nowadays makes me smile a bit, and that was over 10 years ago now.

Samba De Amigo, Soul Calibur and Phantasy Star Online were my favorites (and the only ones I got to chance to play for more than a bit on a real Dreamcast).
Of course then I remember the disgustingly terrible Samba Wii port, Soul Calibur's decline and PSO2's current status and cry a little.
Shenmue I and II. But there were other obvious games worth mentioning like Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Skies of Arcadia, Street Fighter III.
Out of the unobvious ones, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (especially the second game) is one serie history has been cruel with. Nobody mentions it anymore, but at the time it was the greatest thing on earth, and it created a genre of its own. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was one of my favourite fighting games ever and so was Garou Mark of the Wolves. If you want to start out with SNK fighters please consider Garou, and I'd take Jojo over any fighter Capcom has produced after SFIII.
F355 Challenge was mega too.
Oh dear, I wish it was still 2002 and I could keep buying all Dreamcast games for peanuts. Nowdays even Virtua Fighter 3TB goes for double figures.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Hmmmmm... Dreamcast games huh. Can't really think of any I like. I'll get back to you folks!
LOL, awesome.
I always thought the Dreamcast version of Skies of Arcadia was better than the Gamecube version, even with the extras. I also really enjoyed Grandia 2, which was also definitive on Dreamcast IMO. Shenmue was weird...but good, really good in some ways. And you really can't go wrong with MvC2 as long as you play with people who don't god-tier whore...and unfortunately I disagree with torotoid64, it had one of the worst soundtracks in gaming...ever...haha.
I might also say Sonic Adventure or Resident Evil 2, but I only liked the Sonic levels in SA, and RE 2 on Dreamcast was great, but probably not the definitive version (maybe though, I dunno)
