I listen to mostly rock, like Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zepplin, Queen, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen, Kansas, Yes, The Police, and alot of others. I'm mostly into late 60's and 70's and early 80's rock, but I like late 80's as well (like punk rock)

I'll dig it out sometime and upload it to the computer. I don't think I've even seen it in 5 or 6 years. I was four originals and a cover of Metallica's Welcome Home Sanitarium.

I'm jut gonna post my Last.fm page instead of listing everything. It's a lot of indie and electronic.

Well, I'll list some:

The Mae Shi - LA noise punk rock with old testament influences
Be Your Own Pet - Punk rock
Of Montreal - Indie glam
Passion Pit - Indie awesome
Heavy - Funk-hop
The Knife - Swedish haunted-house-type stuff
Giant Panda - American/Japanese rap

Mae Shi owns faces and destroys worlds. Listen to them. All the time.

nice! metal drums eh? you must be very good. do you still have a kit? i'll be honest i love playing drums more than i do at any other instrument. im not that good but i can keep simple beats with a few things added i have learned in the past seven years. get this, no one has ever showed me how to play, i picked it right up just by watching other drummers.

I started playing drums when I was 8. I didn't start doing studio work until I was 23. Then joined a band through friend and played with them for 3 years before we called it quits. I have a set of DW Collectors in storage from when we moved to this new house. No room here. And they're too nice a set of drums for me to set up in some garage or airplane hangar. All my cymbals are here in our utility room because I try to keep them climate controlled.

Stick with it. You've got a good sound. It's always hard to find the right musicians, and the bad news is that it only gets harder as years pass and people get busier and busier. The Plebians is the last band I've been in where I've been able to write some of the music, and we're about to call it quits after our next album this summer. I think from then on I'll just be playing for others' bands, which is a bit disheartening, but oh well, we move on.

Thanks! I had very little role in that album since I was filling in at the last minute, but we should have new stuff up in a month or two that I think kicks even more arse.
And yep, we're mostly from Thibodaux. I've lived here all my life other than half a year in Ruston for school and am about to move to New Orleans. My sister lived in Lafayette for a year or two, actually, but moved back here recently. Certainly a small world!

Come on, friends,

Polka.

But seriously, I like Electronica, Alternative, and good 'ol rock and roll (preferrably the old kind). The list of bands I listen to is too long to go through completely here, but a few of my favorite bands are Yes, Pink Floyd, The Killers, The Bravery, Coldplay, Green Day, U2, Goldfrapp (OK, it's actually one person, but whatever), Tool, Metallica, the Pixies, Depeche Mode, MGMT, and Foreigner.

It would seem that my musical tastes intersect with (almost) none of the above posters (someone did mention Pulp, huzzah!).

Some all-time popular favorites:
David Bowie
The Beatles
Leonard Cohen
The Magnetic Fields
Bjork
Tindersticks
Pulp
Roger Waters (yes, solo)
Radiohead
Richard Hawley

Non-popular music (no, I don't mean "unpopular")
composers - Bartok, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Chopin, Penderecki, Schoenberg
jazz - Oscar Peterson, Vince Guaraldi, Miles Davis, Brubeck, Coltrane, any good trio / quartet live

...surely forgetting some things even more dear to me than those on the list, but these came to mind first.
