All of us gamers had to start somewhere, so what was the first video game you've ever played? If you can't remember for sure what was the first game you've ever played, then what was the earliest game you've played that you can remember? The first game I can recall playing was The Lion King on the Super Nintendo. I was a huge Lion King fan when I was a little kid, and on my 4th birthday that game was one of my gifts. I don't remember much since I have a vague memory, but I remember enjoying the game but I sucked playing it [because I kind of sucked at video games when I was a kid].

The year was 1990. I was almost five years old. My dad had gotten an NES for his birthday, and I took to it almost instantly. It came with Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt (with the orange zapper).

No clue really. Some game on the Atari 2600 im sure. Or maybe an arcade game. I was very young at the time.

Probably space invaders on the Atari. That's the only game system there was way back when I was born.
Once the Nes came out that was all it took to turn me into the videogame obsessed dork I am today.

Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt for the NES. Wasn't this thread done before?

Got Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on GBC as my first video game. I was raised well.

Exactly.

If it was, I certainly could not find a thread about this subject on NL, it's not that easy searching for old threads.

Bubble Bobble on NES. Good time . I think this thread was done before, but I couldn't find it either.

Yes, it's a repeat thread. But then, aren't they all now?

The first amazing game I played was Super Mario Brothers. No other game before it felt so in depth and immersive. I can't remember the first game I played. I played Dig Dug in the arcade before the NES and I played a bunch of Intellivision at a friend's house before he got a NES.

The older I get the synapses don't fire like they used to but...I believe it was either Dodge 'Em or Pitfall for the Atari 2600.

Probably Ms. Pac Man or some other game they had at pizza hut in the earliest of nineties. The first game I owned and played a bunch was Sonic 2 on the Sega Game Gear, the best portable game system ever. Its a solid game, nostalgia aside, so I'd recommend the master system port on VC for Sonic fans looking for a challenge.

I drew Pong on a piece of paper. I drew the ball outside the opponent's boundary, so I always won.

Galaga. My family actually had a cocktail cabinet back when arcades were cool.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Something on My family's old DOS computer. I distinctly remember Ant Attack, The incredible machine, and Crayola Rock (couldn't find a link, but it was a drawing/puzzle game by Crayola which came with the old pc).

It would have been another Game Gear game. Probably Aladdin or Super Columns on Game Gear. I'll have to look at my collection, but nothing really sticks in my mind like the "first" game.
