I have very fond childhood memories of going and picking a tree every year. But, I've had a fake one for years now, and probably always will, cba with all them needles, plus y'know... eco-guilt.

Real trees are more environmentally friendly than fake ones. Fake trees are petroleum based, which results in a very large carbon footprint.
I'm sure I'll down a pint of Stella or two at some point. It's what Jesus would have wanted.
And although I am an Atheist, I am a Christian, Protestant atheist. So I'll just eat my food and drink my lager, and wont be doing any of that midnight mass stuff - but if push comes to shove, and it all kicks off, religious super-war style, I'm on the side of Jesus.
I like green trees personally, but my grandma has a white one (fake) decorated with red apples. Of course, if you buy a real one and you keep it for long enough, you'll get a brown tree!!!! lol As far as real or fake goes, I much prefer real trees, but my family has had a fake tree for the last for or five years now because my little sister is allergic to real ones. Oh well, fake ones are easier to take care of at least!!!! They seem to use less water. lol

I have a gen-u-ine aluminum Christmas tree from the early 60s, which was recovered from my great grandmother's attic upon her death. The color wheel doesn't rotate anymore, so I just have to pick one color at a time.
