Alright, I have had a lot of trouble trying to make this decision. I feel like I need to get a new System, and it will be one of these three. My reason for DSi XL as a contender rather than just the 3DS over it, is because: 1. You know it will be WAY cheaper than the 3DS 2. It has the DSi software (Making it easier for me to connect to the Internet as well as giving me the opportunity to buy DSiWare games) 3. BIG SCREENS BABEH!
I wanted the PS3 for: 1. It has awesome software, plus it's just awesome period 2. It has great games and game series going for it (3D Dot Game Heroes, Modnation Racers, Current Ratchet and Clank series is on it, plus it even has Final Fantasy XIII as well ) 3. I would look more mature rather than your run-of-the-mill 12-yr old gamer.
So, can you help me decide? It would be great if you can! Voice your opinions ladies and gentlemen! I'm all for it!

Big screens make it bigger and less convenient to carry.
Paying extra for big screens, but no extra functionality over regular DSi.
3DS
We don't know anything about it yet. Might suck, might be awesome. Might be too expensive. Might not even be available here by Christmas.
Buying the newest system on the market usually means you are paying the "early adopter" premium. Depending on your budget, that might not be worthwhile.
PS3 Slim
Many popular games on the console are rated high enough that 12 year old can't buy them (unless your parents don't care).
It won't make you look more mature; that's just silly marketing.
Even with possible price drops, it will still probably the most expensive of the 3 options.
Personally I wouldn't buy the DSi XL when you know that it's going to be replaced by a new system really soon... and I wouldn't plan on buying a 3DS until it's closer to launch and we actually know more about the system (price, backwards compatibility, online features, release date, etc). But there really isn't a good reason to avoid the PS3 Slim if you can save enough money. It's a great console, with many fun games available no matter what age you are.
If it were my choice, the PS3 Slim would be the clear winner right now. By the time October or November arrives that might change... but planning for a PS3 and then adjusting that plan later on is probalby the best choice.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
That's a tough one..... You should put the 3DS on hold. Nobody knows what it does, so you should go with what you know you like. The PS3 would be a wise choice; if this is a big decision to make, and it's going to be THE buy of the year for you, then get the PS3.
Question: Do you already have a PS3? Do you have a DS?
hmm...... I would say go with the ps3 only because I may get that as well for Christmas and the ps3 slim is just a little black box thats stuffed to the max with awesomesauce inside.....

It has the DSi software (Making it easier for me to connect to the Internet as well as giving me the opportunity to buy DSiWare games) The 3DS is practically guaranteed to have infinitely better online capabilities and according to rumors will be fully backward-compatible with the DS and DSi (meaning you can still download DSiWare, I would think). 3. I would add the Uncharted and Little Big Planet series to that list as well (especially the second game in both franchises), among others. 3. Bottom line: Almost nothing is confirmed about the 3DS aside from the obvious; wait til E3 at least to decide. Keep in mind the PS3 is by far the most expensive option (not just the system; the games), and the DSi XL would be a terrible decision. Good luck and happy gaming! @mecoy: Not to be offensive, but might I say that you sir, fail at life. Lol.
@Winslow: I do not have a PS3, nor have I ever owned one. I have a DS lite, but it's mic is messed up and I just need to get a DSi XL or 3DS anyways. You really don't need another new Nintendo handheld if you have the DS Lite, imo. It plays all the same great games.

I would say 120gb, but it depends on your personal needs. I don't see myself downloading over 120gb of data, whether it be PSN titles, music, or other game-related stuff. Even if I did one day, I could replace the hard drive with a larger one. But you might as well pay the extra $50, if you're going to use it.
