I was an 80's kid so naturally I like alot of stuff from that era. I'll admit I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson. (Hey he was big in my day so BACK OFF!) Just kidding LOL. I also like anything by Weird AL. His stuff always cheers me up. I'm pretty weird myself. I'm Not real big on country or rap. I used to be into Vanilla Ice as a teen but then I realized he was a tool.

I can agree with that. Heavy metal is good for when you're mad about something. Sometimes I crank up Ozzy osbourne when I'm feeling grumpy. It's Good for venting all that pent up anger.

I listen to a lot of different music, but my favorite bands are Counting Crows, Perfume, and Deerhoof. Video game music probably makes up 1/3 of my library. I really can't stand country or rap most of the time, but there are a few artists I like in those genres.
I like a whole ton of music. Pop, rock, jazz, funk, dance, J-pop, and lots of video game soundtracks. I've been into 80s and 90s rock recently, and I also like looking for obscure bands and indie artists lol.
Heavy metal is awesome, but I really don't like nu-metal/death metal/black metal etc. Gangsta rap and 00s R&B/pop also suck imo, with some exceptions. Country isn't so bad, but I don't actively go out and listen to it. I much prefer roots rock/blues rock a la Creedence Clearwater Revival.
When it comes to music, I don't pay attention to genres that I like, I just remember the names of the genres that I don't like so I know to stay away. I know, not really the greatest idea in the world, but I'll just list a few of my favorite bands.
Green Day, Weezer, The Beatles, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Anyway I don't like specific catagories usually but I like certian songs from each area. I like the Beatles, video game music, the openning song from the Blob, as for songs from different genres (I don't know if these are there actual titles) I like "You Spin Me Right Round" I had it stuck in my head for weeks, "I Can Walk on Water, I Can Fly", a Tokyo Pop song about being a butterfly (don't know the title). Those are some things I like, I also like DK rap, and the openning song to banjo kazooie.
The Majority of my music is Country, Pop, and Soundtracks ( I enjoy a good musical). I also listen to some Alternative, rock, Folk, Jazz, Blues, and I have 1 comedy album. Favorite Acts: Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Demi Lovato, Glee Cast, She & Him, Paramore, La Roux, Selena Gomez & The Scene, and Ashley Monroe

Indie music, I guess. My favorite indie bands right now are Phoenix, Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire. But I also like a few more mainstream bands like The Beatles, Coldplay, U2, and...oh dear I'm leaving one out...hmm...

everything. really. if you come by my college dorm room, you're likely to hear all kinds of things playing in the back ground, from rock of every flavor, to rap, to Christian worship songs, to classical stuff, to jazz, to blues, to reggae, to techno, to opera (yes, opera), to country, to R&B, to bluegrass, to some extraordinarily trippy indie music (look up Dan Deacon's "Paddling Ghost" on youtube), to videogame music, to some of my friends' original compositions and anything else you can think of. i'm as wide with my musical tastes as my gaming tastes.
