I'm not into chiptune but I woldn't go as far as to say it ain't real music; I have actually happened to find interesting songs, amd even one of my favorite bands (Closure In Moscow) has experimented with it for the last song on their latest album. And also, let's not forget about Nintendocore, which can be really cool at times: if you've never heard of The Advantage (and you probably haven't), I suggest you check them out they play old 8-bit themes of games like Megaman, Super Mario Bros. etc. and they're quite good.
However, I mostly listen to contemporary progressive/experimental rock and also other bands who are not exactly prog but have a "proggish" way of playing their own kind of music my fave bands are RX Bandits, The Sound Of Animals Fighting, Closure In Moscow, A Palace In Persia, La Dispute and Streetlight Manifesto and Berri Txarrak (you know, I used to be a punk )

Clover.

It's winter here now and there is a mountain of snow outside, so I have been listening to stoner/desert rock and some Beach Boys to pretend it is summer.

You and I should be friends.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

Gamecubed

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I am really into show tunes right now.

@R_Champ Speaking of putting people down, you're doing just that. Especially since you're reasons for not liking me boil down to me having avatar that's a Sony character and me having different opinions.

Not that it matters since this thread will likely be locked like every music discussion thread this forum has had. (Yet the music spam threads are okay because who the hell needs bandwith, fuctional browsing, or actual discussions about music?)

Hmm? https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/search?search=music&ty...

Also, your concern about the main music thread is justified.

I was actually referring to both the Music Thread and Game Music Thread. I thought the 80's thread got locked a while ago. Oddly enough, if the Thread maker simply justified the thread by the existance of another thread specifically for game music, things probably wouldn't have gotten so heavily derailed...probably...

Oh, btw, I bought a couple tracks from Brave Wave. Mostly -AKANE-'s Journey album, but also a few tracks from KeijiYamagishi's Retro-Active album, especially Starfish Cluster. Very relaxing tunes, they are.

Do you ever have anything nice to say? Every time I see you on here you're doing nothing other than bringing other people down. The person asked a valid question about what type of music people enjoy. Either comment on the topic at hand or be quiet. Don't just look for opportunities to tell people that their opinions or thread topics are stupid.

I get this a lot from people who read 5 posts from me the entire time they've been on this forum. And yet I'm the one they say are too quick to judge. I don't know your name. We clearly haven't interacted, so don't act like you've got me figured out, k?

Off-Topic, but I finally searched a list of threads I made...most of the threads I make are stupid. Wow...no wonder so many of them don't do too well. I should try harder...

It's actually been awhile, but I tend to gravitate towards J-Pop, 80's Pop/Rock, Modern Country, Christmas Music, and of course video game stuff.

It's you! You're the reason why everyone working in retail/service/hospitality must suffer for 3 months of the year! D:

To be fair, I don't usually start listening to it until November. Still, once it's that time of year, I can pretty much listen to it nonstop, lol.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Well, you kinda' limited me from listing 90% of what I listen to (video game music).
I mean, (I don't know if Anime tunes count or not) is it bad that I've listened to the 'Atack on Titan' theme (also known as the "Armored Titan theme") about 100 times in 2 days?

Discovered Slime Girls awhile ago and really like their stuff. They are a prime example of how to make great not real music!

That and rap is mostly all I've been listening to. Just waiting for Chance and the social experiment. Don't really care for how different it is from his usual stuff but it's beautiful stuff so far from the tracks he's released.

Chance is great! Really looking forward to Surf and his solo album. Although to be honest, none of the social experiment stuff has lived up to Acid Rap IMO.

Yeah he is. I love his flow. I started listening with Acid Rap and went back to listen to 10 days. Hey Ma is one of my favorite tracks from him.
I gotta agree on Surf. I was real excited at the announcement but so far it hasn't really wow'd me the way Acid Rap did. All of the tracks seem more repetitive than his usual stuff and while nothing is inherently bad about the stuff out so far, the beats and lyrics just don't feel as creative.

Yes, because clearly that leaves you little time to listen to the engrish (Gibberman?) insert songs like Reluctant Heroes and Bauklotze.

A lot of internet and foreign musicians lately.
Aside from game remixes: there's Studio Killers, Anamanaguchi, Sapphire (Fan dubs), LeeandLie (Fan dubs), ShadowLink4321 (Fan dubs), Pelle K (Fan dubs/ Metal Remixes), Janne Da Arc (they split ;_;), Nano, and I crap ton of others really...
My taste in music seems to just go from place to place really, just not mainstream pop radio stuff (I'm annoyingly a hipster like that >:-/, can't stand music my little sister or mother like to listen to and I don't know why).
I've recently acquired an interest Mystery Skulls, mainly due to the two animated music videos of his songs.

I could just really like the animations though (Yes, I'm aware the creator is a brony, I don't care).
