That being said, most of what I listen to us psychedelic rock, psych folk, stoner metal, noise rock and IDM.

This is a signature.

Screw you.

I think it's dumb to claim chip tune is not real music. Some amazing beats came out of it that can stand up to stuff considered "real music". Saying "only other genres" or something would have sounded less stupid.

That and rap is mostly all I've been listening to. Just waiting for Chance and the social experiment. Don't really care for how different it is from his usual stuff but it's beautiful stuff so far from the tracks he's released.

Mainly just jazz. Mostly the standard stuff, Miles Davis and the like, but I recently learned of this weird Monster Hunter jazz album that would be just as amazing if MH never existed.

Pretty much all I've been listening to lately is Love Live because the game has taken over my life. ;0;

But I typically listen to J-pop (mostly Idol groups) and a mix of other genres like Rock, Metal, R&B, Gospel, Pop, Electronica, Techno, and yes... video game chiptunes. Even if I don't particularly favor the genres I'll also listen to Bluegrass, Country, Hip Hop, and Rap if I really like a particular song. Oh and I am an absolute sucker for Holiday music.

Current Playlist: Age of Calamity, Stardew Valley, ACNH

Not that it matters since this thread will likely be locked like every music discussion thread this forum has had. (Yet the music spam threads are okay because who the hell needs bandwith, fuctional browsing, or actual discussions about music?)

Do you ever have anything nice to say? Every time I see you on here you're doing nothing other than bringing other people down. The person asked a valid question about what type of music people enjoy. Either comment on the topic at hand or be quiet. Don't just look for opportunities to tell people that their opinions or thread topics are stupid.

My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."

Hmm? https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/search?search=music&ty...

Also, your concern about the main music thread is justified.

I mostly listen to Jazz and sometimes J-Pop when I'm not listening to chiptune.

I rarely get into the cool underground stuff unfortunately. Mostly because time and effort, or the lack thereof.

Thankfully the number 1 song in the country is awesome right now, so that's convenient for me.

I think a little while ago I did listen to random new electronic music on playlist, most of which was apparently fairly unknown. Some of it was good.

My favorite music in general is about 1965-1973 blues rock, acid rock, psychedelic, proto-heavy metal, that sort of thing, but I listen to a lot of stuff. I just bought At the Gates' new album last week and have been on a Gothenburg death metal kick. Catching up on Dark Tranquility. Man, Damage Done and Fiction are phenomenal albums.

I also have a soft spot for NWOBHM. Iron Maiden was the first band I got really invested in and that's the sort of music that became important to me as a teenager. Listening to that 80s British metal though made me go back and examine their roots and influences, which is what made me come across Queen, Led Zeppelin, Rush, and Pink Floyd, who are now my four favorite bands.

Favorite album of all time is either Rising by Rainbow or Argus by Wishbone Ash.

LOL, I tend to agree with you there, but this is the internet...EVERY forum has at least a few of these guys (Jaz07 and Punished_Boss are two others on this site alone XD). There comes a point when you just have to tune them out

On topic: I kind of agree with others in the topic that calling VG music and chip tunes not music is just racist...uh...musicist? Prime examples would be OSTs like Chrono Cross, Xenoblade, or Skyrim. They're are just as much art as any other music form.

Outside of that I've been listening to some blues and soul lately. Not originally something I was interested in, but artists like Clarence Carter are just too good.

Do videogame remixes count? If yes, CROW'SCLAW, warinside, IRON ATTACK!, and recently DUANE & BRANDO are among my latest listens, though I'm not one to have different music on while playing most of the time.
As for non-gaming music, I'm onto Maximum The Hormone, GALNERYUS, OUTRAGE, Yousei Teikoku, Nakatsuka Takeshi, and Gnarls Barkley.

I've noticed that period keeps extending, Christmas music tends to seep into even September nowadays. Next thing you know it'll start invading summer! D:

As for me, I listen mostly Rock, Metal and Video Game music though my music library is very varied. It was very disappointing when I lost my 160GB iPod Classic so when I'm out of the house I have to instead rely on my phone for non-VGM which only has space for about 40 songs (microSD cards are a huge nuisance so I don't have one for my phone yet).
