Topic: What is your opinion on the Nintendo hardcore fanbase?

Hello there. I wanted to make an topic on your opinion on the Nintendo hardcore fanbase outside of Nintendo Life. Explain why you like or hate the fanbase.

As you can see, outside of Nintendo Life, I hate the fanbase with an passion. In fact, I consider them the worst fanbase I've ever dealt with. They show no apperatication for games on the Nintendo Wii at all, they will constantly preach and preach as it was a FACT that the Wii is the worst video game console ever made and that Nintendo has abandon the hardcore gamers. Even when they already sold there Wii's, they still complain about it and that Nintendo has abandon them. Also, they are very impatience and will not accept any flaws. When Nintendo makes a little and I mean the smallest mistakes, the fanbase goes ballistic for no reasons. On the IGN Boards, I see those terrible comments every day and I almost cry because Nintendo hasn't failed them, but they have failed Nintendo.

I'm so thankful that Nintendo Life is here, otherwise, going into the comment section when it comes to Nintendo related things would be an nightmare.

So what is your opinion on the Nintendo hardcore fanbase?

I take what I'm given and am appreciative, I never get angry at Nintendo what good's that gonna do?!

I consider myself to be one of the Nintendo hardcore fanbase, but to me it means something different, a group of people who grew up spoiled by the challenge and content of Nintendo games and now find it hard to except a lesser standard. That's the kind of fanboy I am, the sort who will defend Nintendo to my death (blindly). Just ignore those ****'s out there, so long as you are having fun it doesn't matter. And Nintendo doesn't care, they look at sales figures not dumb forums.

They absolutely cannot accept any criticism of Nintendo or the Wii whatsoever. If someone complains about something Ninty did, they tell the person to leave the forum, accuse them of being a Sony/MS fanboy, or say "if you hate the Wii so much why don't you just sell it!!!" To them, everything is black-or-white; you either love everything that Ninty does and ever will do, or you're a Wii hater.

Every time, they prove those 360/PS3 fans right - the ones who say the Wii is for babies - because they act so childish and immature when it comes to criticism. They throw temper tantrums over reviewers' scores and negative opinions, and accuse anyone who doesn't toe the line of being "bias" (sic).

The only fanbase that is worse is the Sonic one. And that's only because I think pedophilic furry fan-hentai is worse than good old-fashioned pedophilic fan-hentai.

I also take what I get and appreciate all the hard work thats put into it. And also agree with Machu on "Nintendo listens to sales not forums" and really no letter from any angry Wii fanboy will change what they decide or want.

I am part of the Nintendo fanbase and i get taunted bc mario is for "little kids"
and i hate that people think Wii is for little kids! look at all the hardcore titles like madworld, twilight princess, metroid prime 3, house of the dead, the conduit, resident evil, and much more! please, the wii is meant for everyone, even the hardcore!

I stay out of any type of fanboy discussions generally speaking. I don't like anyone bashing any of the consoles, unless it's the 3DO. Then you can bash it to hell and back for all I care.

Hey, the CD-i is cool.

I get irritated by the "hardcore" fans because no matter what Nintendo does to please everyone, some of them just whine and whine some more. On the other end, however, are the hardcore fans that are pleased no matter what Nintendo throws at them. I'm more of the latter and honestly if I meet one of the negative fans, the internet would explode because of our confrontation.

I hate people who bash Nintendo fans for liking low quality stuff because Nintendo makes it. If it makes us happy, then we are fine.

What kind of "low quality" stuff were you referring to?

Im talking in a Xbox fanboy's perspective. Low quality=TERIBL GRAFICZ!

I am a Old Shool Nintendo fan and always will be. Yeah Im that guy who is very dissapointed in the direction of the Wii software. Mainly difficulty levels being way to easy. Nintendo taught me to play games for the challenge and its just always really stuck with me. Nintendo changed with the times and younger generations and I didnt. Its not Nintendos fault. Yeah I sold my Wii cause It just didnt get played but Im not goin to bash it because their is a huge market for it. I did try the Motion Plus today with very mixed feeling and Im still firm I made the right decision to sell for ME. I love the DS/DSi. The Mario RPG series is just phenominal and the DS really has some great hardcore games that really appeal to my likes. Consoles I stick with PS3 as I dont like the FPS genre that most people say is todays hardcore. I consider myself to be a Core Gamer. I will always love Nintendo its just at the moment the software doesnt fit my taste and that isn't Nintendos fault.

I don't know, you must not have played some of the games I have. You should try Radiant Dawn if you want a challenge. I've always been an old-school gamer myself, especially since I literally grew up with the NES and played games like Zelda II and Super Mario Bros 3 throughout my entire life. However, my approach wasn't necessarily the challenge that was the thrill but rather the appeal of the game itself. I am a casual gamer and like to try new things and that's why I like the Wii.
