Topic: What IPs do you think would make for a good game. (Essentially get the Arkham treatment.)

A thread to discuss what IPs (regardless of the chances of it happening) should get a game, and what the game should be like. It can be any franchise, Harry Potter, Bleach, etc. Anything with potential works.

A game set in K.M. Moning's Fever series setting (AWC) could be a lot of fun. The various races and factions would lend itself well to a video game, I think, especially if done open-world.

What is that series? I haven't heard of it before.

I think Rurouni Kenshin would make a pretty awesome action game (maybe like a Ninja Gaiden with less gore, since Kenshin doesn't kill).

To give the game more of it's own identity, maybe it could focus on some sort of untold adventure that he had during his 10 years of wandering (that's a lot of time to work with). This way they can avoid trying to adapt the main story into a game (which, like most things, would be tough to adapt, since it was never meant to be told through game form).

that would definitely be an interesting game!

Arrow (TV show). Open world Starling City with fast fluid combat. I'd like to see it take the approach of allowing you the ability to snipe your enemies, or go in and go melee. I'd also like survivor flash-backs to the island. That would be fun, but might mess up the TVs continuity though.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I've also always thought that InuYasha would make for an interesting party based JRPG.

I later learned that there were indeed two made (one for PS2, the other for DS), and were both supposedly terrible. Though, I'm not sure whether that has do with the series not being as good a JRPG I had imagined it'd be, or if they were simply bad licensed games (meaning they'd be bad, regardless of branding).

I'm leaning towards the latter though, as apparently, both games center around an original character (instead of the main cast) from the modern era who gets stuck there, and for some reason can't get back by the ususl means, so the game(s) simply become a quest to find them some other way home, with the bad guys interfering simply for the sake of being bad guys.

I'd say bleach but it had a bunch of great games already.
Toriko would be cool, wait it has a game already too.....
then....... maybe daily lives of high school boys? I mean an RPG about them doing the usual "let's pretend we're in a RPG"! basically an RPg about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK5JZP3zeLQ XD

I dunno, I'd love to see someone make a sword-wielding game about NOT killing. That'd be kinda fascinating, if almost profoundly difficult to pull off well.

@GuSolarFlare There could still be a better way you think there is to do a Bleach game though. I know I have a few ideas for Bleach games I would think are better than what's been made. I know I have a few ideas that I think would make for a better Bleach game. Or a spin off of sorts could be cool. Imagine a game were you make your own Soul Reaper and rise through the ranks with events with the Bleach Characters of course. It would be open-worldish, you could explore the soul society city, but it would be somewhat of a hub for missions, with maybe a few areas to explore in addition like Ichago's town. To put it simpler since I'm not the best at explaining things, a soul reaper academy game. I have to wonder if the general japanese of style of games would be best for a Bleach game though.

@Jaz007 that'd be definitely one heck of a game!

I'd rather there be a game about a series worth caring about though. So unless you somehow release this game in 2006...

it got THAT bad after the fullbring arc? I mean I surely thought it couldn't get worse(since it was so good until the last arrancar part)

I'm not sure how much I can say about the series without giving too much away. It's part paranormal romance, part apocalyptic survival horror, part fantasy, but 100% fantastic. It's a world where the boundary between the normal human world and the world of the Tuatha Dé Danann is dangerously thin and most of the world is oblivious to that fact. Most fae aren't beautiful and sparkly, but dark and extremely deadly. And if you're really unlucky, you might just get K'vrucked.

I think it would work well for a video as you have a setting (post-apocalyptic anywhere on earth ), an antagonist (the entirety of both the Seelie and Unseelie courts, as well as the random Fae creatures that don't really fit into either), and a lot of really good source material to draw from, including characters, locations, history that draws heavily from Irish folklore, and plenty of flexibility. It would lend itself, really, really well to an adventure game in the style of the Longest Journey.

Bleach was good throughout the Soul Society arc, but it's quality dropped off after that.

Granted, while it's not perfect, the Arrancar/Hueco Mundo arc is still interesting as well, but only in manga form. The big problem with it in anime form is that they interject two large filler arcs right in the middle of it, making it drag on way too long (and the series went on hiatus twice during this period on AS, so if you were watching it on TV, it look like 4 years to get through it...)

The Fullbring Arc is utterly terrible, though. It's a canon arc that feels like filler, and that's exasperated by the fact that the events within are pretty much rendered pointless at the end. It felt like Kubo just felt like he HAD to have an arc centered around Fullbrings, so he hastily threw something together (for those that don't know, Fullbring is the technical term for the type of power Chad & Orihime have).

Then you have the Vandenriech Arc (manga only), which again, while not perfect, is actually really good (the most I've been into it since the Soul Society Arc or early Arrancar Arc), but the anime was cancelled before it could get here... I'm months behind on it though, so I need to get back to it (Last I read, Renji just arrived on the battlefield after completing his Zero Division training).

The Simpsons, Superman and Godzilla/Toho all have a great game in them, just a shame the prvious efforts have been so poor.

A semi-condensed version of Wheel of Time would be incredible.

And Bionicle. An AAA game with branching paths based on failure, cinematic cutscenes, and a deep and versatile elemental combat system.

An open world G1 Transformers game would be great, A G.I. Joe game would be fun (based off the 80's cartoon), and a Ninja Turtles game would be fun.

Definitely an open world Harry Potter RPG (The lore is there! Pottermore is a treasure trove too. It's frustrating that this hasn't been done yet)
Wizard of Oz in the vein of Alice the Madness Returns.
Pirates of the Caribbean needs a decent game. And RPG for that would be cool to see.

The Arkham games represent (almost) everything I dislike about modern AAA games (Easy combat, weak enemies and stupid enemies.) but there are loads of potential games that could build upon the formula:

any prison film - try to become the 'daddy' of a huge open world prison, try to tunnel out, generally avoid being victimised by the gangs/guards and beat up weaker inmates to gain respect. Don't forget to bring a tool.

Thomas the Tank Engine - open world game on the Isle of Sodor. You start as PA to the Fat Controller and have to graduate from mundane jobs like catching bag snatchers or cleaning trains, all the way up to preventing terrorist attacks and dealing with hostage situations.

Eastenders - Basically The Getaway but without swearing and the only way to kill people is with cars outside the Queen Vic

Dexter - just the killing serial killers bit. Later iterations can try to add relationship simulation to the mix.

The Raid and The Raid 2 would work quite well as beat em ups.

The Last Starfighter needs a proper modern game. Open world space defence.

Global Conspiracy Tycoon - aim of game is to get the most followers by inventing the most convincing conspiracy theories in the wake of simulated tragic events. Goals include selling out a stadium or having a best selling book.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.
