The first Megaman Zero. I beat it without using any cyber-elfs at all.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
Izuna 2 the uenployed ninja returns. Alot of people mention it was tough to keep your weaponsitems but i kept most of mine without problems just had to grind._. Alot
Donkey Kong Country Returns. A lot of people say this is a tough platformer, but i've never understood why. The rocket barrel stages weren't easy, but they were not so bad after a few attempts.
Yep. Same with Tropical Freeze. The only actual challenging parts were the bosses for me.
The only problem I had with Shovel Knight was the stupid knock-back mechanic that led to way too many cheap deaths (it was close to Ninja Gaiden cheapness). Other than that is was pathetically simple to abuse the green orb + shovel spike to kill just about anything in the game.
Other than that, I can't really think of any. I'm not terrible at games, but I'm not amazing either so if a game is hard to most than it's usually hard to me. Unless I can find some exploit and make the game simple like what I mentioned above for Shovel Knight, or quick-scoping enemies with a rifle in Bioshock Infinite.
While I'm sure there's at least one, I can't think of one at the top of my head.
Maybe the original DKC? I seemed to have no trouble playing through it (well, no more trouble than SMW, at least), and it wasn't until later that I learned that the series was considered difficult.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Also, I want to mention Shin Megami Tensei IV. It's actually the beginning of the game that gives me the most trouble. Once you make a little progress, lots of very powerful options become available (such as the MP Recovery app series, and buffs and debuffs that affect multiple stats), mechanics like fusion accidents and randomly evolving skills almost guarantee that you'll end up with something overpowered at some point, and it eventually turns into a game that isn't nearly as bad as people say. Even the hard mode doesn't really help much since you can generally get by with the same strategies.
Agreed. The Minotaur boss is the hardest fight in the game. The difficulty drops off after that point.
Everyone complains about Zelda 2 being difficult, but I've always gotten through it fairly easy. I did play the game a lot as a kid, so maybe that has something to do with it.
