Topic: What Game's Looks Made You Speechless?

Here's an interesting question. What was the first game that you played or saw that literally left you speechless after seeing its graphics. Me, personally, was when my older brother played Kingdom Hearts. I was maybe around 5 or so (I don't have a good memory) and I saw the opening of the game (with the song Simple and Clean) and I was left speechless. I had never seen a game with more beautiful graphics before and I loved it.

I love the Metroid Prime series. Muramasa was really good too.

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. When I saved Pitfall Jr.'s father, I was all surprised when I saw what the father looked like. Like, "........................."

There was also Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger, though I feel it not necessary to say CT's infamous moment because almost everyone should be aware of it.
But, if you're not, I won't spoil it for you. Deal?

SMG 2, NSMB Wii. As soon as I saw the announcements for them, everything went black. I woke up 5 minutes later.

I remember when I was a kid, seeing commercials for Sonic 3 and wanting it sooooo...bad. It just looked so bright, fast, and fun. The graphics on that commercial are a big part what drew me in to saving up and buying a Genesis.

N64 Super Mario 64 blew me away graphics wise...now it's all blocky, but at the time! It was my first all 3D game, and it just looked amazing then.

Same with Sonic Adventure on DC. You could see little dandelion seeds floating in one level. They didn't have HD then, but when it came out, it seemed like HD to me!

I'd really like to play a more colorful game on an HD console. I've seen some FPS's on PS3 and Xbox 360, but the graphics are all brown/grey. They're impressive, but they just don't jump out at me and make me go WOW! I also think that it gets to the point where graphics aren't a huge jump and "revolutionary" it's just finer tuning already pretty smooth 3D graphics, so I think a game would really have to be impressive and do something great and unique for me to get blown away at the graphics like I had in previous generations. It would be great to have that feeling of amazement again, but I don't think it will happen.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

Myst.
Only game to actually impress me graphically like that, really.

Goldeneye 007. That was the first game I saw on N64, and WOW, it blew me away, coming from Super Mario World to THAT...I don't think I need to say anymore

I'd have to agree with Adamant. Besides seeing old systems as a kid with a 2600 and being "blown away" with each new gen 'til the Sega Genesis, Myst was the first game that left me in true disbelief by what I saw on that monitor.

I'd have to say Mass Effect on my old Xbox 360.
But Killzone 2 on my PS3 has impressed me big time.

Also Super mario 64 was one that was unreal....

Tomb Raider and Tekken, they were first 3D games I had ever played. Of course you look at them now, they look ridiculous, but they were amazing at the time.

But recently I just saw Muramasa The Demon Blade for the Wii, the style and design of that game looks incredible. Not to mention how fun the gameplay looks.
