Thats a pretty good question.I still buy old games for my SNES or megadrive but i also buy new modern ones as well.it really is kinda hard to tell.Well to me im more of a Retro then a modern gamer because i play old arcade games from the 80s and 90s
I officially own a MAME arcade machine.
"To be this good takes AGES, to be this good takes SEGA".
I play good games. Why would it matter when they were made?
This. It doesn't matter what era it was made in, if the game is good for what it is, I'll play it. It doesn't matter how easy or hard, whether it's 8-bit or HD, I don't put up any restrictions to keep me away from a good game.
I do both. I tend to be more of an retro gamer, since I absolutely love the Virtual Console and is getting into MS DOS games, but I also do a fair amount of modern gaming. I would say I'm 55% retro gamer and 45% modern gamer.
I grew up during the late NES and early Super Nintendo days, so I played a lot of the hard games back then, but now I really don't have as much time for level-grinding or hours of exploration. Right now I am more of a modern gamer because I like the games that don't give vague hints, don't have high level of difficulty, and can be beaten around 10 hours or so.
Its kind of sad though -- MOST kids today have kiddie games to play like Petz Horses and Wii Play. Back in the 90s, all the kids played stuff like Super Metroid.
Somebody set up us the bomb. Wii: 8703 7486 8875 3789 I love PWN3NG NintendoLife members on Tatsunoko :-)
