Topic: What game would you make?

If you could make a game, what would it be? Mine would be called Kodiak the Bear: Tale of a Tired Hero. He would be my game company's mascot (or at least an attempt at one.) My company will be called BridgeWorks.

How come no one's responding

I'd like to make a game called "Mixed-Up Mario" and pit Mario into the various costumes of the Nintendo universe. Like Samus, Kirby, Link, etc. Sort of a platformer but with levels that mimicked the look and feel of the costume he's wearing. Maybe even give him one power from each character. Can you see Mario running around with Samus' helmet or Link's green hat?

I kind of meant a completely original game

I already can make games. I have problems with finding unique ideas, though.

Do you work with a dev, pixelman?

I don't have any original ideas. I believe that's why there was little response to your topic.

@SonicMaster: Nope, I'm indy + hobbyist. I'd love to work for DSiWare or WiiWare, but by the time I'm old enough to get a license it'll all be outdated.

I've got another idea. The game is called "Pixel Panic." It's another retro style game with 8 or 16-bit graphics (can't decide.) The screen shows the hero of the game in different environments, and you have blow through the pixel pipe peripheral to move the hero and destroy the pixel monsters. You have to save the world from the evil Pixel Overlord. For the bosses (one at least) you have to defeat all of the mini-enemies the boss throws at you. Once he's tired, you have to Play as many notes as possible to hit him (the more buttons held, the better.) The Pixel Pipe would be like a flute with buttons instead of holes that you actually blow through.

So, can nobody besides me think of any original games? If not, I guess you could post an idea based on already created characters. But the gameplay has to be original. Btw, did anybody think my ideas were good?

One of my dream projects is a horror game involving a mother/daugter duo. There would be Ico style hand holding and the mother would have to continuously comfort her daughter. The daughter may get kidnapped by a monster at which point a stress meter would appear acting like a timer until you can locate your daughter. The game would involve lots of running and include a whistle button where you could potentially lure a monster into a trap. Be careful because monters are brutal and if they can get in one huge swipe with their claws its game over. This would be survival horror that thrives on maternal fears and instincts.

I also have ideas for unique twist on more casual fare like a platformer and a themed minigame collection. I don't want to talk about those too much in case there is a chance those ideas could come into fruition.

I am currently working on an RPG on PSone's RPG Maker that includes an epic story and minigames that keep you in the moment.

In 2nd grade I came up with an idea for a peripheral that actually transported you into the game, and you became part of the game's story. The example I gave was for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I could change into a hamster for the game and take the place of any of the main characters.

I'd make myself that shooter/RPG hybrid that's been bouncing around in my head (no title yet). It'd be mostly third-person with a few overhead and 2D side-scrolling levels thrown in to mix it up a bit. It would feature four magic knights from different countries who each wield a legendary gunblade and magic that corresponds with their country's particular element. Those four knights would be able to be used in four-player simultaneous multiplayer. With the gunblade a knight can fire magical bullets at enemies or get in close and slash foes with the blade. They'd also be able to cast magic using motion. The experience system would be tied to the score; the higher the score, the more experience you get. When you level up, stats increase and new magic is learned.

NLife Smash!! (With the 2 exclamation points at the end.) Everyone on this site fights! SonicMaster would be a realistic blue hedgehog with shoes. I would be a question mark with arms and legs. pixelman would be a retro ninja dude. Corbie a grim reaper who curses alot, with a T-shirt over his robe with the #7 on it, etc. Hows that for originality?

god I miss being a kid. Seriously. That whole post just made my nostalgia gland pulsate....I remember designing Starblade, my Dragon-Warrior-1 esque RPG, drawing all the enemies (in a NES-DW style monster chart w/ stats) in MSPaint, only to discover that the Playstation got a shooter of some sort with that title the very same year...I was so offended that they'd "stolen my idea"....childhood rocked.

In the works to make a game that is aimed for XBLA Marketplace 'cus it's the easiest to release for. We got a team of 4, I'm doing the art and story, it's something very original. Can't say much about it though, kinda top-secret... we don't want someone stealing it from us, plus we don't have a name for it yet.

I would make a Zelda game where you can actually make Link jump.

Just kiddin', I would make a game kinda like Drawn to Life, exept you actually DRAW and you draw the enemies, your character, the worlds, and weapons, and the bosses and just lay it all out the way you want. But like in a Mario-ish style, no villages or other people or anything like that. That would be an awesome game!
