Recently completed Samus returns (I'd give it about a 7 out of 10. It's good but undeserving of all the praise it's been getting imo. )

I'm playing through Culdcept Revolt and it's a blast. I'm taking a break today because I got kinda mad at the game. Matches can take upwards of 30min and I lost a particularly tough battle against the ai 35 min in. The computer cheezed me and snatched a win away from me n around 30s despite the fact that I was outplaying it for about half an hour. Pretty rage inducing

So zetta slow!

If I had a Switch I would be playing Odyssey like everyone else
...but because I don't I'll be playing my usual Halloween season games - Project Zero, Majora's Mask and maybe a RE game.

I play the same "spooky" games every year, I would add a new one but I'm not sure what...

I usually write WAAAAY TOO MUCH!
...so I'll apologise now in advance.

Halloween time, so I popped in some DOOM II on Friday, played it co-op with a friend. Found out the hard way that friendly fire is on by default. Whoops.

Also been playing Bloodborne on and off. It's not nearly as frightening as I expected, but it is very stressful, in that Dark Souls kind of way.

Also planning to play some Devil May Cry 3 tomorrow, and maybe some Disgaea.

Otherwise, I got into Gigantic for the PC, and I LOVE it. As good as I was hoping it would be.

Slowing down on the MOBAs - Mostly sticking with Paragon for now. I'll play more League of Legends when Pre-Season hits, if only to see how it handles the new account leveling system they're promising, as well as the revamped rune system. Honestly, it's such a huge grind right now that I don't feel inclined to bother playing more than 2 or 3 matches a day, since I'm mostly stuck with, like, 10 characters I bought, plus whatever's on the free rotation...I currently have just enough to buy a champion, but at this point, I think I'll just save up...

Heroes of the Storm, Smite, Overwatch, Paladins, etc. have all left my rotation, but I'll still probably pop them in whenever I get the urge. It just got repetitive after a while. I'm starting to burn out on Paragon, too, actually. Maybe I just need a break from multiplayer games?

@matiasu SMT IV: Apocalypse is what SMT IV should have been, at least in terms of pacing, difficulty progression (it actually gets harder as it goes on!), dungeon/level design, accessibility (notice how you can choose your preferred difficulty setting right at the start?) and gameplay balancing (so nice that they balanced the OP smirk mechanic). Easily my favorite 3DS JRPG.

I do kind of miss the creepy atmosphere in the original SMT IV, though. IV: Apocalypse feels more like an anime with its waifu characters and de-emphasis on choices that affect the story.

Just finished Cuphead. I had such fun and frustration with it. Old school NES hard with fantastic artstyle and animation.

@Ralizah If only the final dungeon in Apocalypse wasn't so god awful. I feel like they didn't even try with it.

@MsJubilee I think the intention was probably to make YHWH's universe massive and labyrinthine, but it just came off as tedious and empty, instead. One of the few dungeons in the game I didn't like.

@FyreeTSG: Right, I was just asking another user that I know has also spent a lot of time with AC:NL. I was wanting you two to compare times. In any case, those logged hours are still pretty impressive.

I'm not sure. Last I checked I was at 1,800+ hours logged. Outside of perhaps 10 days or so, I've played ACNL everyday since I got the game back on June 9th, 2013.

Currently tryin' to get my 72nd (and last) badge in the game. (The gold badge for street passin')

Because of the Sonic sale through My Nintendo and the fact that I've always wanted to try a classic Sonic game, I've downloaded and been playing 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The game is a bit of a mixed bag for me; I love the 3D graphics and some of the worlds (Casino Night is my fav), but I think some enemies, some world mechanics, etc. are just there to troll the player (I mean, why is Sonic so slippery?). Tails doesn't make a terrible partner (usually) and there are some neat moments to counterbalance some of my ire.

Also in the SEGA department, I've been trying my hand at Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya on the 3DS VC. I picked this up ages ago and am now just getting around to it. XD The game is pseudo-fun, though the dialogue is a bit generic and I'm not a fan of the randomized character movement (I've been spoiled by FE, it seems). I'll be sticking with it for the time being, though I'm unsure if I'll finish it.

I love Sonic 2 (a lot of nostalgia tied to it too). Sonic 3+Knuckles will always be the pinnacle of classic Sonic to me though. The trolling mechanics are cheap (an enemy just off screen after a speed booster, really?). Funny thing is, I've played it so many times that I can avoid pretty well all of them now lol.
Tails is useless as a partner. Especially if you're going for Super Sonic as he loses more rings in the special stages than he gains. Do you have the option to turn him off? The original game had an options mode where you could choose to play Sonic & Tails both, Sonic alone or Tails alone.

I'm not sure if there's an option to turn off Tails, but in my case he has sometimes been a slight help. XD He has helped dispatch a few enemies, though conversely he's also activated a few movable platforms and the like when I didn't want him to. I haven't really explored the menus to see if he can be turned off.

Yeah, those enemies just off-screen seem a bit cheap IMO. One particularly made me rage last night as I had well over 50 rings at that point and felt I was doing quite well.

It's not a bad game by any means, it's just that there are a couple of things here and there that I would personally tweak.

I got Super Mario Odyssey and FIFA 18 within about a day of each other. I've put 15 hours into FIFA and only 4 into Odyssey.

Also been getting back into Mario Maker. Only given it about 20 hours so far, and they were nearly all playing other people's levels (I haven't even unlocked all the building tools yet), so want to make some of my own, if I can avoid getting distracted by playing levels. Fantastic game.

Use the 'ignore' button, it works.

Started SOMA last night on the PC. It's... OK so far. Decently atmospheric, and some really good sound design. It's one of those "sneak around the monster" sort of games, which is fine, except the monster in question causes your screen to flicker whenever you look at him, which is more annoying than scary. I also hate the long sequences where the game forces you to walk around the ocean floor. It's tedious and everything looks the same, so it's easy to get lost. At least it's got a pretty cool sci-fi narrative going on, even if I still hate the way these Western games just litter audio logs everywhere in order to tell a story. It's lazy.
