Do you want it to stick to Sonic's Unleashed formula (fast linear gameplay) or go back to Sonic's Adventure formula (fast open-world gameplay)? Do you want just Sonic or multiple playable characters? Do you want the classic look or the newer look, or a completely new redesign? A new gimmick (Ex.: Wisps or time travel, or in other words just gameplay twists that alter the gameplay) or just normal gameplay? Aside from the next mainstream Sonic title, what about the next handheld or digital title? Tell me all about it!

Honestly, I just want a remake of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Pocket Adventure.

I would like the next game to have Adventure gameplay, and have multiple playable characters, but maybe just 3 or 4 like Sonic 3 & Knuckles (maybe Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow, or maybe Amy over Shadow. Sure laugh, but she really needs another TRUE playable role.) They should all play like Sonic like in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but with different abilities of course and in 3D. I really don't mind which of Sonic's looks they use, I like both looks a lot. If they decide to redesign them, maybe they can blend the retro and modern look, so it'll look like a mix of classic and modern Sonic, but I really don't care; I say just stick to the newer look. Yes, I want a new gimmick. Maybe a twist where he can travel between different dimensions, or where he has powers granted by a magical force, such as Meteor-Spindash, or Boomerang Homing Attack, and stuff like that, or maybe a gimmick rides animal friends (think about riding Flicky or Tux, that would be fun)! I think the next handheld title could be a totally new game and not a handheld version of a console game. Maybe a Sonic Advance styled game would be nice. The next digital title should be Sonic 4 Episode III, and take place after Sonic 4 Episode II. Playable Knuckles would be great, and maybe Sonic and Tails should free Little Planet in this episode and Blue Sphere stages should return. Maybe Episode Metal II could be included and Metal Sonic must revive his robotic brothers, Mecha Sonic and Silver Sonic. That's my wish MultiMarioSonic!

They need to make Tails and Knuckles playable again, except have them run through the levels like Sonic instead of giving them the gimmicks they had in Adventure 1 and 2, since they both can run almost as fast as Sonic in Sonic 2 and 3.

@Starman-Super While a remake does sound nice, I really just want a completely new game. Maybe a remake to go along with the new game would be nice, but Sonic's had a year-long break and he needs a new mainstream game.

I was also thinking another boxed Sonic title, to go along with the 3D platforming Sonic title, could actually be a 2.5D platformer like New Super Mario Bros. or Rayman Origins, and have 4-player co-op on the same screen. Physics and gameplay mechanics could be dead-on like the Genesis games and not like Sonic 4, and have 2.5D elements like going into the backgound but maybe have hand drawn graphics. Maybe the starter characters are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow, and you unlock other characters like in Rayman Origins. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Ristar should somehow join the Sonic series, Ristar could run just as fast as Sonic if he wore speed shoes, and he can still stretch his arms and grab enemies............................then hopefully Jazwares or whoever release a action figure and plush of Ristar.................how does this idea sound?

I dunno. Guess I just want it to keep doing what it's been doing, but with a little something new thrown in to keep it fresh. They've been on a good streak lately. I'd rather they didn't ruin that.

Something completely new would be fine, too, but I'd be more cautious about it.

@CanisWolfred Yes Sonic is doing very well right now better than he's been doing in years.You think people would like the Adventure formula better if it didn't focus so much on different gameplay types for each character and focused on making the games with the light-hearted feel of a Mario game, like they are now? I think the Adventure games would've done much better if they focused on making a game that would appeal to kids and not preteens/adults. I mean really, a hedgehog with a gun? And don't even get me started on Sonic and Elise...

Sorry back to focus. Maybe a Sonic game where you play as Sonic with normal 3D gameplay in the majority of the level (Adventure formula) but there are segments where you must switch into 16-bit 2D platforming gameplay (yes, you literally go into 16-bit 2D gameplay, none of that 2.5D stuff). Wouldn't that be cool? It may sound like Sonic Generations, but it's really a totally different concept.
