I am from USA living in USA hoping to live in Japan
I hear it's expensive to live in Japan, not to mention the people are particularly unkind to foreigners.
were you serious or kidding
I've read many posts and blogs about how hard it is to be a foriegner in Japan. Trust me, I'm being serious. If you need to read, here's a place to start that I just found. It's not all negative, but it gives you some good insight.

On Japan: There tends to be conflicting views. Some say the people are generally welcoming and accepting of foreigners, others say trying to live there is unpleasant and isolating to say the least. What I think can be said with some certainty (having never been there, but what appears to be a recurring theme in people's accounts) is welcomed or not, it can be difficult to get yourself taken seriously if you're not a native speaker of Japanese. And no amount of studying the language is going to turn that one around; if you're planning on moving there, prepare for a rough time getting work or being seen as anything other than a kawaii gaijin.
Anyway, I live in the UK and I've lived in the same town my entire life.
Born in a mining town in '58 **singing** No wait, that's not right ...
Born in the German Democratic Republic. Became a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1990. Moved to the western Germany in 2000 too. Because of otherwise bad employment prospects.

I was born in South Africa and I still reside in South Africa. I live in a city called Port Elizabeth, also known as the friendly city (or the windy city). Lived in London for about 3 years though, on a working holiday visa and I am looking forward to visiting the UK again.
