I'm going to get a Vita this holiday, and I want to know from the gaming community: just what are your favorite Vita games? What should I get? I play all kinds of games. And how do you feel about their exclusives, such as Tearaway, and Ys? I feel with Tearaway, we have one of the most charming games of the year. I'm also planning on getting Persona 4 Golden.
Tell me what you think.

I would have to say Mortal kombat because that is the only game I have played on the vita.

Haha vita has no games, yes they don't have that much butt in my opinion just as much quality games as Nintendo. When you have playstation plus you start with Gravity Rush and Uncharted. Uncharted is really boring butt Gravity Rush is a blast. And when you get it before the 28th you can still download Guacamelee a super cool indie and Sonic Allstar Racing Transformed. And on the 28th You will be able to get Soul Sacrifice and Blazblue. In the mean time buy some indie games like Hotline Miami, Stealth inc, Dokuro and by then you will be able to get Dragon ball z the batlle of Z. ENJOY!

Gravity Rush is one of the best games ever. Persona 4 Golden is great as well. I haven't played Ys Vita, but it sounds as good as ever and comes from a great series. Killzone's good stuff if you're into shooters. Wipeout's a great racing game. Muramasa Rebirth is the definitive version of the game.

Awesome. Good responses so far. And as for the argument that the PSVita has no games, that could be said about the Wii U as well. I'll give it time before I buy it, as NSMB and SM3DW are not alone sufficient for a purchase.

The PS Vita has plenty of fine games (Not to mention it actually has more confirmed releases for next year then the 3DS ATM), and the mean quality of them tends to be very high. You rarely ever feel like you're playing a handheld game, and I mean that in the best possible way. Not to mention the handheld ports on the system are usually console-perfect (Degraded visuals at worse), and many are actually better. It's a quality rather than quantity system, and I would take it over my (Two) 3DS's any day of the week. Reminds me a lot of the GameCube, tons of high quality releases but unfairly maligned. Such a great handheld for those willing to question the hate train.

My favorite games on it right now are Gravity Rush and Disgaea 3.
Gravity Rush is one of the best handheld games in decades, I feel. Worth buying a Vita for alone, it's so good. Disgaea 3 is amazing too, even better than the console version (Has all the DLC and some other improvements). Can't wait until we get Disgaea 4. I'm starting to enjoy Soul Sacrifice as well, and I think it might end up on this list eventually. :)

Gravity Rush is great, Ys is amazing, Tearaway is fantastically charming, Virtua Tennis 4 is wonderful, Killzone Mercenary is the best handheld FPS ever made (and I've played Metroid Prime Hunters), Dead or Alive 5 Plus is a perfect port, Muramasa is great if you haven't played it on Wii, Persona 4 is great, apparently (I haven't played it yet. Waiting for Christmas), WipEout is a great racing game, Uncharted is Uncharted, Hotline Miami is sadistically addicting, as is Spelunky.

Oh, and if you haven't played The Walking Dead, get that too.

Also, a general rule of thumb: the fighting games on Vita rock. They all seem to be basically the console version, with some variances in graphical fidelity (but not speed).

Best thread ever

Awesome recommendations. I am starting to get into the RTS games like Disgaea. The game that pulled me into the genre was Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. That game is amazing, and the story is awesome.

Turn-based strategy then. See, Disgaea put me onto those games, and I didn't even know what they were called. I remember having an RTS game for the PS2 based on feudal japan, and thought theyy were all like that.

I don't have a Vita but Spelunky is really awesome. And it has cross-buy with the PS3.

I had fun once and it was awful.

I'd have to say on the retail/digital side my favorites are Gravity Rush, Killzone: Mercenary, LittleBigPlanet Vita, Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us, MLB The Show, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Rayman Legends (very good on Vita and with the recent patch now has all content), Muramasa Rebirth, Dragon's Crown, Soul Sacrifice.

Digital only:
Guacamelee, Super Stardust Delta, Mutant Blobs Attack, Retro City Rampage, Hotline Miami, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Runner 2, Motorstorm RC, Machinarium, Sine Mora.

Best PS Mobile games I've downloaded on Vita:
Lemmings, Switch Galaxy, Aqua Kitty, OMG-Zombies and Super Crate Box.

Gravity Rush is one of my favorite games on any platform and was probably my overall favorite game of 2012. A nice open world, fun story, and very likeable new character in Kat. LBP is just awesome, a perfect 2D platformer. I'm a big baseball fan and to be able to have an MLB game with full content to take with me on the go is awesome. Killzone shows FPS can actually work, and work well on a handheld and I love fighting games and MK and Injustice are among the best. A lot of my purchases are multiplat, but I just feel certain games such as Sly Cooper, Rayman Legends, Guacamelee, Sine Mora and Machinarium are better suited to handhelds.

I don't have much to add. Most of the great ones have been mentioned. If you're into visual novels though, Danganronpa is excellent.

What, like full moons, silver bullets, and eyebrows that join in the middle?
