As the world waits with Carly Simon-like anticipation for the upcoming 3DS Stand what better way kill time than to celebrate all the amazing video game accessories that have enriched our video game experiences over the years. Which well marketed super-duper useful pieces of plastic are your favorites and why?
Do you like to return to the classics?
Maybe you prefer to really be able to express yourself?
Or are you similar to this guy who likes to pull a Billy IdolDancing with my Self every now and then?
We all fell for this fad, and now what is left is only clutter for our house right? Or are you one that just can't get enough?
My favorite video game accessory of all time is the NES Advantage. Nothing comes closer to reliving the memories of my childhood trying to replicate the arcade than this! TMNT II: The Arcade Game is truly thearcade game when the Advantage is in full effect. The arcade stick, the big buttons, slow motion and rapid fire... Man, total control and only with the NES Advantage!
While it’s less than 2 months until Kid Icarus drops in North America along with the 3DS Stand don’t spend all that time anticipating all the different incredible ways of how you are going to use it. After all, in the words of the wise Carly Simon: “Anticipation, anticipation, Is makin' me late, Is keepin' me watin' '” and you don’t want that. Instead you should dust off some of your older video game accessories and try to figure out what possessed you in the first place to get them!

Konga controller and the GBA Player. The Konga Controller because it was like the Guitar Hero Controller but easier to use; and the GBA Player because it could play GBA games on my Gamecube.:3

Loved the GBA Player! I also liked my rumble pack for the GBA... And steering wheels for my racing games on the GCN and Wii. Hm...what else... Oh, and I'm still a Guitar Hero!
DK Bongos: I'm still amazed at how fast I was able bang out those expert rhythms on Donkey Konga. I think it's the closest I've ever been to being in a trance.
Super Scope: Holding a bazooka feels good. But when we got this (when I was about 10) instead of having to keep one eye shut all the time I made myself an eyepatch, thus making it even more badass.
Rumble Pak: First time I experienced this on Goldeneye was pretty cool.
@Shingi_70 Doesn't the 3DS have a built in camera already?
My favorite video game accessories are the Power Glove and the GBA player. I also really like that power force thing or whatever it's called for the NES. It let you play using your hands or sometimes a joystick like piece of plastic.
the N.E.S advantage stick-that looked so cool the N.E.S zapper N.E.S controller - still my favourite controller sega mega drive kidney bean controller sega dreamcast spaceship type controller wii nunchuck controller wii classic controller Udraw tablet
NES Advantage owns all! You get one of those + TMNT II: The Arcade game for the NES and you're set for Flinstone life!
And many memories are Shredder surging in my mind regarding the Mario Paint Mouse and that fly swatting mini game among the many. Yet i never got a chance to go toe to toe with the power glove Lucas-style aside from seeing it in stores and in the Wizard.
I'll tell you which NES accessory I 'didn't like.....The NES MAX. Worst D-pad er..Analog mathingy EVER, actually...scratch that, it still beats the XBOX 360's. Yet the NES max does boast some killer retro BoxArt and the controller itself looks kind of cool. It's just that wonky Analog/d-pad makes it tougher and akward to play the actual games, what good is that NIntendo? Nice try for being unique, I'll give you that.
Yeah I remember thinking the Max was cool though I couldn't use it for a hill of beans. I thought if only I could use this thing I would be a good player! Haha... Oh the things we did back then. I love that classic 80's Nintendo Star Wars spacey packaging theme, they should really bring that back for the Wii U. Get the orignal Nintendo marketing department out of retirement right now I say!
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
