What exactly do the notes say? The picture's a bit to small for me to read. EDIT: nevermind, I just zoomed in with my browser. Still, Nintendo's letter didn't actually say if they sent her a DS.
I can't belive Nintendo did that! lol lol lol! EDIT: Hey 110%-- to zoom in just hold control and press +. I don't know if this'll work for Windows Explorer cuz we have FireFox.
Long story short; I woke up one morning finding my letter to Porsche SE returned and a Carrera GT waiting for me in my driveway.
I have a Backloggery now! Nothin' fancy, but feel free to add me as a friend. [21:15] Axoloth joined the conversation [21:16] Axoloth: I love you, dead chat [21:17] dead chat runs away [21:17] dead chat has left the convers...
I saw this a while ago. Maybe she got the DS because whoever read the letter got a kick out of it.
They probably sent the DS (which costs Nintendo next to nothing to produce), and then saw to it the letter went viral. Easy marketing trick - and way more effective than giving consoles away as prizes for competitions, as it does better good-will.
Nintendo's probably also working under the assumption that the girl, who also owns a Wii, will probably buy a few Nintendo games for the DS, which is where all the real money is made in this industry.
Finally, by doing this, Nintendo's just about locked this girl into the company via loyalty for life (or at least, another generation of consoles)... +profit.
Must say, Nintendo of Australia is especially good on the customer relations side of things. It's a good move.

Or just made it all up. Since when is NOAU any good?

And can you go a little faster?!

I've never had any trouble dealing with them. Quite the opposite, in fact.
If this were any other company, I would question the validity of such a thing actually happening, but through my previous dealings with Nintendo Customer Service, I have little doubts that this is fake. At least on Nintendo's part with providing the free DS, the child's letter looks very suspect to me though... I have little faith that it is actually written by a child, just the way some of the words are written and other things just don't look right to me, but hey, I'm not a handwriting forensic scientist.
I complain about Nintendo sometimes regarding things like the policy of untransferable purchased games/content, but I know that they tend to bend over backwards to help customers when they easily can, the good tends to outweigh the bad, but its generally the bad things like the non-transferrable dlc that affects people like me.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
I don't know why people are knocking her on her English. Most of the corrections on the letter are related to style (they're LEARNING to write business letters, after all). Aside from a couple minor grammar/punctuation mistakes, she's obviously literate and writes better than some people I've seen on this forum.

I like them now. Got my Club Nintendo Pencil Case in the mail.

NoAU are pretty cool. They replaced my old Pokemon save batteries for free. I just wish they got games out here quicker. It's true that were the first country to get NSMBWii, but it's annoying having to wait untill July 1st to play Super Mario Galaxy 2.
