Topic: Videogame Sequels that generally got a bad rap.

Stuff like Mario 2 (USA),Castlevania 2:Simon's quest or Zelda 2: the Adventure of link. Which ones did you like that everyone else hated. The three I mentioned are among my favorites but most people don't like them. Can you think of any others that were hated on just because they were different?

Majora's, right?
Also, there's been some Pokemon sequel hate, but I don't think it's because they're too different.

Bionic Commando PS3/360 has been royally crapped on by most all reviewers. I loved it though.

Super Mario Bros. 2, are you kidding me? That game was awesome.
Zelda 2 is pretty much an underrated sequel, as is Ys III.

Devil May Cry 2.

Hey I was just about to say Devil may cry 2! Good example.

Tenchu sequels (all of them)

Devil May Cry 2 and Sonic '06. And this is off topic, but I loved Luigi's Mansion. I don't really hear a lot of people praise that, not like Super Mario Galaxy anyway (which I thought was a slapped together mess).

Super Mario Bros. 2. I think people just like to hate on it because it wasn't the REAL Mario 2, as it's actually a really great platformer. I love the throwing mechanic, and it should really be used more often. I don't know about most people, but I'd take a palette-swapped Doki Doki Panic over that digital sadism that is the real Mario 2 any day.

I'm actually one of the few people on the face of the planet to actually prefer SMB2 to SMB1.

Golden Axe II is a mixed response type of game. Others like it, others don't like it. I happen to fall in the former, as I thought Golden Axe II was better than Golden Axe I. I thought it was more responsive and sounded good than the first MegaDrive title.

I just have to say I disagree in every possible way.

I always liked Dig Dug II, even though it's not as good as the original Dig Dug. Can you dig it? :3

I wish I were. I actually consider it possibly the worst Mario game I've ever played.
