If you had to be a normal resident in a game world (MEANING, NO QUESTING, NO FIGHTING, ECT., unless it's very commonplace for regular citizens in that world), which video game nation(s) would you like to live in?

For me:

"Strangereal" (Ace Combat series) - Okay, it's not a particular nation per sé (it's a fan term to describe the AC world), but I'd be able to have all the modern conveniences I have now. The only risk is the fact that this world is engulfed in a worldwide conflict every few years or so.

Malkuth Empire (Tales of the Abyss) - TotA has various nations (Malkuth Empire, Kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, Daath, & the politically neutral city of Chasedonia), but Malkuth is the one I'd like to live in the most. It's capital city (can't remember the name off hand) is the most beautiful city in the game world, it houses the quaint farming village of Engave, & the luxury hotspot of Keterburg (all three seem like nice places to settle down in). It's also the largest nation in the game (by area), because they were victorious in the last major conflict (before the start of the game's story), & has two more cities than the one's I've already mentioned. Of course, The world lacks modern conveniences, & traveling would be a tad dangerous with all the monsters about, but the nation has enough military power to keep it's citizens safe.

Jhoto Region (Pokémon Gold/Silver) - Here's another world with modern conveniences, & there never seems to be anything too dangerous going on in the world either. Further than that, however, is that everyday citizens get in on the action, meaning I could try becoming a Pokémon master (or just go to the national tournament & watch the best trainers around go at it.

Pop star, Dreamland. Nobody takes dedede seriously, and most of the time, anything bad happens on another planet in the solar system. Food is abundant, there is no need for an economy, and all the bloodthirsty creatures are adorable. :3

Chocobo might be impossibly adorable, but the people in his world look like weirdos.

Ninjabread Man is the game industry's version of Plan 9 From Outer Space. It has this reputation for being the worst game ever, but turns out that it's merely painfully average when you finally play it.

Onechanbara is the worst Wii game by far.

Painfully average? I'm not sure if it falls into the "So Bad It's Good" category like Plan 9. The idea that it's painfully average with glaring flaws but not terrible would go for something like Black Ops Declassified or Duke Nukem Forever.

I mean, I can't even get anywhere in Ninjabread Man due to the shoddy controls, the graphics are pretty awful, and the game has 3 levels total.

Duke Nukem is a game that's bad more because it's genuinely offensive than there being anything stand-out wrong about the game itself. It was generic and dull, but not really broken.

I didn't play Black Ops Declassified, but I'll be willing to bet that people think that game is "bad" more because they have a predisposition to hate it than it being objectively bad in any way.

If you couldn't get anywhere how did you know there were only three levels? :P

The ninja stars worked well enough to get through the game, and yeah, it was only 40 minutes long. I never said it was a game worth playing, just that it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. It also was not that bad in terms of visuals, just completely average. Plan 9 was disappointing for the same reason. People hype it up as being the best worst movie ever, but you start watching it and it's just an amateur production. Buried under that amateur production is a thematic point that was actually worth making, too.

Onechanbara will make your arm tired from the waggling (which is amusing, given the theme of the game), and it genuinely looked awful. It was also a game that was actually broken on a few levels, and wrapped up in some foul sexploitation to boot.

DNF was mainly criticized for the vulgarity, but there were also the clunky platforming sections and the fact that it was simply underwhelming for a game in development that long.
BLOPS Declassified has the same problem you mentioned as one flaw of Ninjabread Man. It's 40 minutes long. It's still fun, but painfully short (I beat it without owning a Vita) and from what I hear the multiplayer sucks.

The controls (not remembering the Ninja Stars well), camera, graphics (they were really blocky, but maybe I have high standards) and length made Ninjabread Man look and play atrocious. Plan 9 is different, as if you watch it you'll probably end up laughing, whereas you'll get endlessly frustrated with NBM.

Never tried Onechanbara, but it averaged a good 2 points above Ninjabread Man.

Exactly. You've just described two games that, while not worth purchasing, were objectively flawed, but not broken.

Broken games are games like Big Rigs, or Superman 64, or half of CIRCLE's DSiWare games, or Onechanbara. Ninjabread Man is in an entirely different league to those games. Ninjabread Man is a solid 4/10. The others are 1/10s

The Mushroom Kingdom, because even though there are constant national crises, they can be solved by one person or four at most. There's lots of enemies, but most of them can be killed by simply jumping on their head or by using a power acquired by simply eating a mushroom or touching an object to put on a suit. You also don't have to breathe underwater and can explore out in the galaxy without oxygen too. Then there's kart racing and board games on top of that.

But if you want a game world that's a little more laid back, I would say Diamond City from WarioWare. It's pretty peaceful, and humans and anthropomorphic animals live side-by-side. WarioWare, Inc. would be a cool place to work at too; the only downside being that Wario wouldn't pay me much. But I could eat Mona's Pizza, visit Kat and Ana at the Diamond Dojo, and ride in Dribble and Spitz's flying taxi, so it would all work out.
