your card isn't blocked from internet purchases or anything like that, is it? and it's not overdrawn, you haven't missed a payment, etc. and so forth?

If you're using a student credit card then it may be blocked from making online purchases. If the problem continues try calling your bank or credit card company and ask what's up. They will know.

Just go to your nearest store and get a points card its probably safer anyways!

@Tech101: lol, what if he were to get mugged on the way to the store or something? which option is safer now? :3 another point is that you can't purchase points cards for less than 2000 points, unlike getting them through the Shop (i usually wind up buying my points by the 1000 myself, only what i need for the next game i want, y'know?)

@JumpMad: another thing to consider is that your credit-card company could've put a hold on your account because they need to get in touch with you about something. lol, my bank did that to me one time because I'd bought gas at the same gas station twice in one day (once in the morning before work, and then once later that day when my husband drove us to the store or something); i missed the letter they'd sent me via snail-mail and hadn't logged into my account online in a week because I hadn't needed to check my balance, so I didn't know what was going on when all of a sudden my purchases with it were being declined.
PROTIP: never put your card into an ATM machine if it's being mysteriously declined -- you won't get it back

Yeah, I only want to spent 10buck, this is why I dont want a Point Card., (and save 10 bucks )

Well, I don't have a Problem buying stuff at a Store with it, but this is The first time I'm using A Master Card to buy N points.
I didn't have this Problem when I had my Vesa card....

I did Call my Bank, and they told me to get an mastercard secure code.
It for online Shopping, and Buying games on The DSi is some what online shopping....

After I got my mastercard secure code, I still end up with The same Problem.

I don't think I have any missed payment or Bad Credit, since I just Started doing stiff like this.

The "security code" is generally the last three digits posted on the back of your mastercard (usually on the signature line). You should have needed this to use your Visa on the shop as well, so maybe your bank has some other special thing they use for online shopping. I've used my card on the shop all the time, and I don't have any issues.

@Tech
I don't see how using your credit card online is any more dangerous than giving it to some broke high school student at retail stores to swipe. It would be easier for them to steal your card info in person than it would be for a hacker to break most sites security features. Most good cards offer fraud protection, so as long as you basically stay aware of your balance, if your info is stolen, you won't be charged anything.

@Token: the 'secure code' thing he's talking about is different -- it's something that works through participating online sellers that helps to make your transactions more secure, an additional verification popup that comes straight form MasterCard and is not shared with the retailer at all. i don't have a MC myself, so idk if the Wii Shop is set up to use the secure code thing or not. the bank he gets his card through probably had no idea what he was attempting to access, just that he was trying to buy something online, so they set him up with that hoping that it would help him out.

Oh, that makes sense. I was under the impression that that was something optional you had to sign up for. I have seen that while using my MasterCard, but I've never chosen to use it (and never had any issues). I guess his requires it. That's a pain, since there are probably a lot of online shops not set up to use it.

Are you putting anything in Address Line 2? When I put my whole address including the apartment number in address line 1, it worked fine, but until I tried that I had the same problem with my MasterCard.

buying points cards from a shop is a rip off. there cheaper online through the nintendo shop channel.
but i`ve never understood why nintendo charge more for dsi downloads (£9 for 1000 points) compared to wii downloads (£7 for 1000 points).

They aren't the same price in the UK, as my_point_is said. It's probably the same in some other countries too. I always buy mine through the Wii/DSi online stores anyway.

@JumpMad Glad to hear it all worked out.
