Really!? Wow, never knew that.

One vote 5/5. (At least the UK one anyway.)

The hype doesn't make it a great game or even good. Its status is god-like (just like its successor: Mother 3), but its quality is nowhere near that and thus, gamers with brains realize its initial hype/praise was unnecessary. (Example: The Dark Knight)

I loved Earthbound and The Dark Knight. I am also really, really smart. Like, top 1% in the world smart. Your argument here is invalid, no matter what you say otherwise.
I don't like playing the "I'm really smart" card, and I know I sound like an egotistical jerk here, but I needed to prove a point.

Only people who enjoy games like I do are truly enjoying them.

I have no problem with how you like to play and enjoy your games, but try not to devalue someone else's own way of playing and enjoying their games while you're at it, pretty please with sugar and a nice little cherry on top. Thank you.

I liked the NSMB series. Don't know if I've already posted it here in this thread or not, but there it is...

Yeah, I gotta agree with Caviar this. This reminds me of when people say "Guns kill people" instead of "People kill people".

Except guns kill people! If it weren't for guns everyone would still be alive and happy just like how if there weren't spoons everyone would be skinny and fit!

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I do. That was (to me) half the fun of buying a game reading the manual learning whatever I could from those sometimes 6 to sometimes 64 paged books.I really want them more in effect when I bought Super Mario 3D Land and saw the manual i knew they were on their last legs.

Well, look at that. I thought I was a weird one doing that. Yeah, I used to read the manuals all the time. I don't really do that much anymore since look at the digital manual just doesn't feel the same so I just play the game and learn as I go now, but yes; reading the instruction booklet was a thing for me.

Nope you're not alone in this. But the main reason why I did it was because I was grounded a lot as a kid due to my grades or behavior , so while I couldn't play the game I obsessed over reading the manual and by the time I could play I was really good at the game having gone through the manual countless times.

For me at least, its not really the fact that the instruction manual is important, its the fact that publishers are putting less effort into making a product. When I look at a colourful instruction booklet like in Banjo Kazooie or other older games with quite a bit of detail; versus a black and white, single page cut-and-paste controller map without any real description, it just makes the package as a whole a bit less special, especially for collectors.

That's great you enjoyed them, but you're not getting the point. The hype surrounding those two forms of media are unnecessary. Neither of them are objectively as good as the fanbases make them out to be.

Well, yeah. The Dark Knight is currently ranked the #4 movie of all time on IMDb. If you honestly think that The Dark Knight was objectively the fourth best film ever made, then I assume you've never seen a foreign film, a film released before you were born, or a film that didn't get a wide theatrical release.

On a personal level, I've enjoyed it a little less since I've really gotten into the technical aspects of filmmaking. The editing in that movie is a total mess. Downside of being analytical, I guess.

My unpopular opinion; I think the Uncharted series is mediocre. To me, the series is just an action movie transplanted into a video game. While that's fine, I don't want that experience and none of the main Uncharted games have convinced me otherwise.

@Chrono_Cross and @CaviarMeths Okay, 4th best movie ever is a ridiculous claim, but I still feel it is a great movie. The Dark Knight and Watchmen are my favorite two superhero movies, and no one is going to change that. I also really like Earthbound. It's not my favorite RPG ever, but it is still very enjoyable. I also didn't watch The Dark Knight or play Earthbound until after they got a huge amount of hype. While I agree these are a bit overhyped, I feel the hype was justified; because as I said, these are great.
I also went into the Sonic Genesis games after they were hyped, and that hype was a huge let-down. So It's not like I love everything or ignore hype. Overhyping can ruin something for me, as I realize the Sonic games are good platformers, just not as good as they were made out to be.

Oh, and BTW @Chrono_Cross, I wasn't lying about how smart I was. I don't care if you (or anyone else for that matter) believe me or not.

I thought Resident Evil: Survivor was not as bad as predominantly negative reviews made it out to be.
