Ecclestone has announced the return of a USGP for 2012. It will be held at a new road course in, of all places, Texas. Well, at least it's coming back.
Didn't they have a USGP in Dallas 25 years ago?

I think they had one in Phoenix but I'm not sure about Dallas. It's certainly possible. It's a shame they're not heading back to Indianapolis but it'll be nice to see the US back in F1, even if it is in Texas (jk, it'll be nice to see a new track)
Good news. Just like with football (soccer), I could never understand why such a top class world sport struggled for interest there. Hopefully this US GP will be better than the last one. That 'race' really didn't help matters.
@Machu...Only (american) football, baseball and basketball get a great deal of attention here. They draw the most money. And in the end isn't that what sports is all about...how much money can be made?
